When I became a dog walker the first thing I completed was a pet first aid course 🐾🐶

In over 4 years I have never had to use these skills until last night when I wasn’t even at work 😯😯

I went out for a walk with my friend and her dogs as well as the beagles and at the end of the walk give all the dogs a treat as usual xx

Within seconds I noticed there was something seriously not right with Hugo when I got to him his tongue was blue and he was struggling to breathe xx

I was able to dislodge the treat and all was well ### (see attached video of how to do it)

The moral of the story if you have a dog please consider doing a basic first aid course you can do these online or you can watch videos on you tube without this knowledge we might have lost Hugo last night and that doesn’t bare thinking about ###

At Odin valley we are lovers of all dogs big and small and we believe that all dogs with the right love and training can be great family members. After a lot of emotion and conversations with insurance companies and the relevant authorities we can happily announce that we will continue to allow banned breeds to use our facilities unmuzzled and off lead. This obviously includes XL Bully’s.

We have amended our terms and conditions which can be found on our website. Please read these before your next visit as these will be strictly enforced to ensure everyone’s safety. We are hoping to open again at the end of January and we can’t wait to see you all soon!

This was one of the only images that I could find which showed a comfortable dog wearing a muzzle that was actually bite proof and the correct size/fit! Be mindful that these things really matter when training your dog to be happy wearing a muzzle.

Choose a dog walker who is happy when your dog is happy, who gets excited showing them new places or when teaching them a new trick.

Don’t choose a dog walker just because they are cheap.

So the school term is starting again soon 🤍

Please remind your dog that not every dog has nice things. Not every dog gets to wear a name branded raincoat or a raincoat at all . Every pawrent doesn’t get up with them to fix their breakfast. Some dogs will go out hungry. They still need friends. Your dog doesn’t need expensive food supermarket branded food will work just fine. If you have it, that’s great but if not that’s okay too. Most importantly teach your dog to be nice to and include everyone.

We are all the same.
