🚨Big News🚨
The new Furry Fangs HQ is well and truly on the way!!
Feeling excited and grateful for what’s to come ✨🪥🐶✨
Please join me in wishing Rusty a speedy recovery ❤️🩹
Rusty came to me for an initial assessment but unfortunately he had periodontal disease, which occurs when plaque and tartar build-up lead to inflammation and infection of the gums.
Over time, periodontal disease can cause the gum line to recede, exposing the roots of the teeth. This condition, known as gum recession, can be quite painful and may lead to other complications if left.
When the roots of a dog's teeth are exposed, they become sensitive and painful. Removing these teeth can alleviate discomfort and prevent further damage.
Get well soon Rusty

🐾 Let’s dive into a topic that concerns the dental health of our furry friends –
The impact of supermarket dog treats on their teeth. 🦴
🦷 Dental hygiene is crucial to maintaining your dog's teeth, therefore it's essential to pay attention to what we feed them, even when it comes to treats.
Can supermarket dog treats potentially harm their precious pearly whites? 🫣
🧐 The truth is, not all supermarket dog treats are created equal. While some can be beneficial for your dog's dental health, others may pose a risk. Here are a few key factors to consider:
🍎 Ingredients: Supermarket dog treats often contain additives, preservatives, and artificial flavors, which may not be the best for your pup's dental health. Opting for treats with natural ingredients, such as dental chews made from high-quality proteins, can be a better choice.
🦴 Consistency: Many supermarket treats tend to be soft and easily chewed, making them less effective in removing plaque and tartar. On the other hand, dental treats with a chewy or crunchy texture can help scrape away plaque, promoting healthier teeth and gums.
📏 Size and Shape: The size and shape of treats can affect their dental benefits. Look for treats that are designed to be chewed for a longer time, as this encourages increased saliva production, which naturally cleanses the teeth and reduces tartar buildup.
👉 So, what can you do to ensure your furry friend maintains good dental health?
🪥Regular brushing: Alongside dental treats, brushing your dog's teeth regularly with a pet-friendly toothpaste can significantly improve their dental hygiene.
🥕 Variety is key: Instead of relying solely on supermarket treats, consider incorporating a mix of dental chews, raw bones (under supervision), and fresh fruits and vegetables that are safe for dogs, such as carrots or apple slices.
Remember, prevention is always better than cure! By being mindful of the treats we offer our furry friends and following go

Happy Halloween to all my Furry Fang clients, enjoy your night and stay safe 👻 #halloweendogs #bulldogs
The most common causes of bad breath in dogs are bad oral hygiene and periodontal disease. Just like in humans, the build-up of plaque and tartar can lead to the development of the bacteria that cause bad breath.
