Keep our little Max in your thoughts. Yesterday he appears to have ruptured his other cruciate 😢, so he'd feeling quite sorry for himself. We are feeling quite sad too, because we know what this involves. I will keep disruption to a minimum but I do need to keep popping back to check on him and make sure he's OK. This will be quite a long term situation until he's fully recovered. My poor boy 😢

These two little superstars headed home today after a two night stay with us. Nell and Tim are a brother and sister pair of working cocker spaniels who really did fall on their feet when they found their pawrents, after a pretty rough start to life. They've been such good pupsters whilst they've been staying with us. It's been really nice to get to know them as hopefully they will be joining the walking crew soon. I'm off to hibernate now as the lurgy appears to have caught up with me. See you all on Monday 🙏

After our group walk yesterday we took the boarding dogs Nell and Tim on a little trip to Wallington with Max and Darwin. It was a chilly one, but it was beautiful. The gang loved exploring 😍

Today we made a little mini return to work and had a trip to Gibside for a walk. Nell and Tim arrived for their mini holiday and were joined by Ruby and Luna from the walking crew. Tomorrow we have an early group walk so no late starts now 😂. Back to it to work off those mince pies 💪. Full return to a normal schedule on Monday 🐶

The boys have had a lovely trip to the beach this morning where we bumped into Connie and Rufus, Maggie and then Ruby Doodle....it was like a Hound Around reunion 😂. The boys then spent the afternoon at Beamish. Tomorrow we are kind of back to work in a limited way as we welcome Nell and Tim for a little short break. Then it's all systems go on Monday with a normal schedule resuming.

What better way to end 2024 than a special delivery from Royal Mail. My official certificate to show I'm level 3 qualified in canine first aid. I reckon that's a very positive note to end on 😍

Lovely Jake, or Jakey White as he's known. Jake has been coming to us for boarding for a long time now, Jake is the reason we met Carlos and Poppy. So he's very happy being around us after so many years. In more recent months though, Jake joined the walking crew and comes out with us twice a week. He's good friends with Kobe, Carlos and Poppy, and anyone who like to race about. Jakey is a very clever lad, something you'd expect from a collie. His recall is absolutely amazing and he waits politely until I say he can get out of the van. No missiles with Jakey White. He's a very gentle lad, unless he's playing with Carlos and Poppy 😂. Jake is also a mud monster and loves nothing better than plonking himself down in a puddle 🙄, so he often gets a shower when he gets home. That's no problem to Jakey though, because going in the shower is one of his favourite things to do.

Just take a look at this lovely girl 😍. Maggie is another of our early clients having had her since she was a very young puppy. Maggie is such a good girl, she gets on with everyone and loves to be beside me. Her best friends are Poppy Cav, Ruby Doodle and Willow Whitburn, but she's friends with everyone in reality.

Maggie enjoys her weekly daycare day on Mondays, as well as boarding and adventure days, she's also been on some dog park trips. She such a gentle girl, calm and well mannered. We love our Mags ❤️

Mr Archie! The craziest of our Spaniel posse. If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting Archie you will know what I mean, he lives life at full speed. Nick is his best mate and he goes completely mental when he sees him 😂. His dad has decided that his normally placid and calm lad is badly influenced by Mr Hound Around who seems to lead him astray. It's all Nicks fault 😂. Having walked Archie without Nick there, I think there may be some truth to this 😂😂😂😂.

Wednesday walk 1 would not be the same without this lad. He gets on really well with Rufus, and Freddie Double Doodle, he also likes Darwin if Darwin manages to bag himself a slot. He tries to chat Luna up, but she needs a little more wining and dining than Archie seems to be prepared for. So he tends to hang out with the lads 😂. He also loves mud! The normally handsome dude usually ends up covered in mud and needing a wash or a trip to the beach for a swim in the sea 🙈. We could never be accused of not walking him, when Archie comes out, he definitely looks like he's been walked....in a field....full of mud...waist deep mud 😂

I hope you've had the best Christmas lovely lad. I hope you didn't eat any napkins this year 🙄. See you soon fella ❤️

Over to Meghan our beautiful red fox lab 😍. She's been on her hols for Christmas with her mam and dad over in the gorgeous Lake District.
What can I say about Meghan....she's a lively girl who joins in with the gang 5 million percent. They all love her. She loves to play chase and everyone is "asked" to join her 😂. She fits in perfectly with Carlos, Poppy and Jake who all race around together. She also like to play with Jasper Puppy. If she goes on a Wednesday walk she's perfect company for Ember and Ralph. Meghan joins us on Adventure Days and dog park days, and is coming for a little holiday soon 😍. For all her playfulness outside, she's a bit of a couch potato in the house loves nothing better than lying on the sofa with Oliver.

We hope you've had the best Christmas holiday in the Lakes and we are looking forward to seeing you soon Megs 😍.

Lovely Luna on Christmas Eve 😍. We call her Lovely Luna because that's exactly what she is. Sometimes she walks along quietly, and then all of a sudden has the crazy zoomies and spins around 😂. Luna is another very sociable dog, never had any issues with any other dogs. She loves a ball though, and won't give one up easily. She never fights to keep it, she just doesn't let go 😂. Luna has been part of the gang for a long time now, and we'd be lost without our gorgeous red head. She joins us 3 times a week and is a regular Odin Valley Crew member. She also joins us on Adventure Days. Sadly Luna has been poorly yesterday so hasn't managed to open her presents but hopefully she will be back on her feet very soon.
Get well soon Luna, we hate to see you unwell. Lots of love and get well wishes from HQ ❤️

And here he is. Mr Marlowe 😍. Look at this handsome dude! Marlowe will be joining us very soon for his holidays, so we are looking forward to that and will be back to his regular wednesdays in January. A bit like Wilbur, Marlowe is another nervous little lad who has been coming on a treat with the encouragement of the crew. He loves coming out on his walks, and we've worked up to getting him off lead for the entire walk now where we feel it is safe to do so. Marlowe is a superstar, and it's lovely to see the progress he has made. His pawrents put in so much work with him after he was attacked by a dog as a puppy when he was on holiday. It changed him, and made him wary of others, understandably. So it's been a real honour to be part of his confidence building journey. I absolutely love seeing them blossom.

This photo was sent to me just before Christmas. I could not believe that this was Dave! He looked so different. Maybe it's because he's clean 😂, and usually when I have him he's up to no good in the mud 😂.
Dave you look so handsome after your groom. We didn't realise your ears were so big and fluffy. Mud tends to do that to a person 😂. I hope you had the best time on Christmas Day and that Santa Paws was good to you.
We miss you Dave the Rave, we will see you very soon. Make sure you stay out of the mud! 🤣
