🐈⬛️🐈⬛️🐈⬛ UPDATE - TRIXIE HAS NOW BEEN REHOMED! THANK YOU FOR SHARING️ 🐈⬛️🐈⬛️🐈⬛️
🐈⬛️ Gorgeous TRIXIE is still searching for her fur-ever home! 🐈⬛️
Trixie is a sweet girl who enjoys a nicely gentle stroke.
She is microchipped and neutered already, which will save her new home a few pennies or unwanted litters!
She would be best suited to a house without other pets, and older children as she can be quite timid.
She really is a lovely girl who deserves a nice cosy sofa to curl up on.
If you are interested in rehoming Trixie, please call us on 01915493535 or email us at [email protected]!
Sadie is making us all wish this is how we had been delivered our morning coffee, this morning!
Sadie has been in for surgery today and is recovering well, and she seems to be enjoying being waited on hand and foot from her cosy bed!
💥 SNUFFLE MATS 💥
Snuffle mats are a fantastic feeding option for so many species, including cats, dogs, rabbits, guineapigs etc!
With Snuffle Mats, food or treats can be hidden between the pieces of fabric, making our pets use their nose to sniff out their food, as perfectly demonstrated by gorgeous Ruger, belonging to our Nurse, Emma.
Again, this is excellent for encouraging our pets to work for their food, providing mental stimulation and therefore satisfaction after their meals.
But did you know, this can also be a great aid for those of our pets who need to shed a fed pounds?
All slow feeders, treat dispensers and Snuffle mats are a great aid when reducing food in our pets. If they are used to eating from a bowl, of course, this will go down quite quickly, meaning they are finished their meal long before they realise they are full.
Use of a slow feeder will slow their eating right down, so when their feed volume is reduced, they take much longer to eat, thus still feeling just as full at the end of the meal!
We have a range of Snuffle mats sold in our interactive toy section, so please check them out next time you're visiting us to see which would be best for any of your 4 legged friends!
🎍 KONG BAMBOO FEEDER DUMBELL🎍
Another of our fantastic food dispensing options we stock at King's Road is the Kong Bamboo Feeder Dumbell.
Below is Ingrid, another gorgeous Collie belonging to our behaviour enthusiast nurse, Emma.
As you can see, Ingrid is also no stranger to the natural feeding experience. She uses her nose to gently push the dumbell around the garden, allowing food to fall out sporadically as it goes.
Again, another fantastic option for those slightly greedy dogs, or just to encourage their natural foraging behaviours and thus provide mental stimulation!
Our KONG Bamboo Feeder Dumbells are stocked in practice, along with the Bamboo Balls, so why not check them out next time you are in!
**All toys, foods and treats should always be given with supervision to avoid choking or ingestion of the parts**
🏐 KONG REWARD BALL 🏐
Here is Thorun, a beautiful Collie cross who belongs to our Nurse, Emma.
Emma has a keen interest in dog behaviour and is a huge advocate for all things natural behaviour for our canine patients, so if you ever see her in consult, she is likely to recommend something from our interactive toy stand.
All of the options on the stand encourage natural behaviours in dogs, such as to eat and use their instinctive foraging behaviours.
As you can see, Thorun has has practice with her KONG Reward ball, and uses her nose to push it around the garden, allowing treats to fall out that she can then eat.
This is fantastic enrichment for a dog, and provides excellent mental stimulation, thus resulting in your dog feeling more satisfied and believe it or not, actually tired after their meal! It hasn't just been handed on a plate so to speak, she has worked for it!
Next time you're in with your pets, check out our Interactive Toy stand to see which of our options are going to be best for your pet!
🐍 TUFF SNAKE TREAT DISPENSER 🐍
Here is Monkey, our Nurse Emily's greedy Bull Terrier!
Monkey is a very greedy boy, who would sooner choke himself on a biscuit than savour any flavour of his food!
Because of this, Monkey only gets fed from slow feeders, should that be a slow feeder bowl, or a treat dispenser such as his Tuff Snake, a reward ball etc.
This is one great use for treat dispensers and slow feeders, to slow down some of our greedier four legged friends and prevent any unwanted heimlichs! They are also an excellent way to prevent boredom, encourage natural foraging behaviours, soothe anxieties etc.
Another great way to use our TUFF snakes is to soak dry biscuits in warm water and mash in, or use wet food for the same purpose and freeze it! This can provide much longer entertainment and keep your dog's occupied that bit longer- also great on a hot summers day when walks aren't an option!
Check them out next time you're in practice and why not treat you good boys and girls!
**as always, all toys, food and treats should only be given whilst pets are supervised to prevent risk of ingestion and choking**
Does anyone else WISH they had this much energy for a Tuesday morning?
🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
P.s. dont worry, no Monkey's have been harmed, he is just a disabled boy with deformed legs so can't stand up straight 🥰
Have you a itchy dog that won't stop scratching!
Everything you should know about your guinea pig.
🐌 SLOW FEEDERS 🐌
We are sure you have all heard of slow feeders, particularly for our canine friends.
But have you ever considered them for your hungry felines?
Or for that matter, ever seen one in use?
Our Nurse's cat, Squid, is fed from a slow feeder plate. He suffers from hyperthyroidism, making him a bit of a hungrier boy than his two feline siblings. He is medicated, and his condition is stable, but he has always been a greedy boy!
He has always wolfed down his own bowl of food, then gone to pinch the food for his siblings.
Here he is using his new slow feeder plate, purchased from the practice, which helps him to slow down his eating so that he doesn't make himself sick, and also allows his two feline siblings to eat their food in peace!
Isn't that brilliant? If you too have a bit of a greedy cat, or dog, we now sell slow feeder plates, bowls and interactive feeding toys in our waiting rooms. Check them out next time you're in!
P.s. turn your sound up for cute cat munching sounds ❤️
