9 week old Bruce visited us yesterday to make the swap to raw 🥩 Holly went through all the information with the owner and answered any questions they might have had.

Bruce has started off on Durham Animals Feeds meat which has more texture to it compared to Dougie’s, Prime or Charlie’s Own.

After a night out & child free day, thanks to grandparents! I’m back in the shop for a few hours and I’m very much looking forward for a catch up with some regulars.

Wow… what a day 🤩

Today has been another record breaking day & an overwhelming 70 customers walked through our doors. We saw a lot of new faces, furry ones also 🐶🐾

We want to thank all of our customers for your loyalty, recommending us to your family & friends & also supporting our small family business. You won’t get this much of a personal service from large chain stores.

Also thank you to those who was patient whilst we was working our through customers & taking payments as well as keeping on top of filling freezers up!

Why do we recommend to feed rabbit when on the elimination diet❓🐰 🥩

When you come to us and state that your dog has had an allergy flare up and you’re not sure what the cause is, we usually recommend that you start an elimination diet. This diet begins with cutting out any other proteins and feeding rabbit for 1-2 weeks, to allow the stomach to settle, therefore causing the external (skin, eyes, ears etc) symptoms reduce 👁 👂🏼

Some of you tend to ask why feed an unusual protein to my dog when figuring out what allergy they have ❓This is because rare or unusual proteins are called, novel proteins. Novel proteins are from a species that dog unlikely to have come into contact before, so it’s unlikely that they have developed an intolerance to it.

Novel proteins include: rabbit, wild boar, venison, goat, pheasant, pigeon etc 🐰 🐐 🐗
Common proteins such as lamb, beef and especially chicken should NOT be used to calm a flare up, as one of them is most likely the cause! ❌

If your dog is showing symptoms of any allergies when feeding raw, please come in and see us for advice. I can go through everything with you.

Wishing our Steve a HUGE Happy Birthday 🥳

My dad is the biggest animal lover (especially dogs!) he has the biggest heart and will help anyone or any animal - hence why we’ve got a house full of dogs & reptiles🦎😅

Without my Dad the shop wouldn’t be where it is today, even though you might not see him all the time, he’s always doing something for the shop & I couldn’t be more grateful.

Steve is working in the shop today… if you pop in make sure to wish him a happy birthday 😝

The dogs are absolutely besotted with him, even Doris who is extra sensitive to change. I can’t wait to watch him grow up at the shop & watch his love for dogs grow 🥹
