Lovely walk this morning with the new and very handsome boy Ralph.

I have to say he was GOLDEN on his training lead 🤣🤣 and it won’t be too long before you are off lead exploring the wonders of Sutton park 🙈🤣

He even got to say hello to the 🐄🐄🐄 but we soon hurried past them as they can be a bit scary 😂😂

Dogs name: Norah (Nala)

Age: 3years old.

Can live with children: Yes, dog savvy children.

Can live with dogs: No.

Can live with cats: Untested.

Current location: Blyth, Northumberland.

Personality:
When Norah came into foster, she was very withdrawn and shut down. It took some time and gentle patience for her to start opening up. And wow when she did, we found what an unbelievable sweet and happy little girl she is, full of affection for her humans. Norah absolutely loves people especially children, but unfortunately, she isn’t a fan of other dogs in her space.
Norah has a feisty side to her and likes her humans all to herself, both inside and out of her home.
When Norah is excited, she gets happy feet and does a little dance. She is always happy to greet you and will follow close by you side.
Norah really enjoys a walk out and gets very excited when she sees her collar and lead.

Things to be aware of:
Norah may be withdrawn for a short time, but plenty of patience and calm to help her feel safe and she will open up beautifully to show you her full personality.
Norah is reactive towards other dog’s who invade her space, so it is advised that she is walked with a yellow caution sleeve on her lead, to protect her and prevent other owners allowing their dogs to approach her.
Norah can hump when over excited and anxious, but she responds quickly to Norah No/Down.

The ideal home:
Norah unfortunately must be an only dog, but what a dog she is. She would love an active family who will include her in every part of family life.
She will happily potter around all day at your side or snoozing in her bed somewhere warm. And love long country walks with the family and back home to spend the evening cuddled up at your side enjoying ever bit of affection possible.
Her family must understand how to help her through her reactivity and how to distract her.

Other comments:
Norah is incredible she came into foster a heart broken little girl, and it has been pure joy to see her grow in such a relatively short time.
She is such a wonderful little girl you hardly know you have her, when your home.
We cant stress enough how her reactivity shouldn’t hold her back from finding her happy ever after.
That there are things you can put in place to protect her.

Norah’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Personality:
Ralph is a very playful boy who loves to throw himself around when he plays with his toys or tug of war. He is also very loving and will try and get into a position where he can touch you when he sleeps.

He has a lot of energy and can be strong out walking but he manages 2 miles twice a day and this suits him. He loves his walks, but we were advised by his previous owners he chooses which dogs he wants to interact with. Whilst in foster he has displayed a lot of excitement when he is near a dog but hasn’t been close enough to interact.

Ralph thinks all balls and footballs are his and he will steal them from children, so he isn’t allowed near when they are playing football.

Things to be aware of:
Ralph has previously had BOAS surgery and his cherry eye gland repocketed, there are no ongoing problems with either procedure.

Ralph can be a little unpredictable with other dogs so we would advise that any introductions are taken slowly. He is usually ok but there is the chance he might react.

The ideal home:
Ralph really loves being around people so the ideal home for him is where is will not be left for long periods and he will get plenty of interaction and playtime.

He can live with children but as mentioned, he is boisterous when he plays, there is no aggression, but he could knock a child over so young children need to be supervised.

Other comments:
Ralph will make a lovely family dog, he is playful, loving and really enjoys the company of adults as well as children.

He loves being in the car and travels well so can easily be taken out on family trips.

Age: 1 Year 5 months

Can live with children: Yes

Current location: Andover, Hampshire

Personality:
Ernie is a playful gentle and loving boy who adores all human contact and really enjoys the company of Hallie, his foster fur sister. They play very well together and like to sleep near each other.

He is also in foster with a 4-year-old child, and he has been very gentle around him, even if the child has his favourite ball, Ernie will sit and wait for it.

Ernie happily walks with Hallie but likes to stop at every opportunity to sniff and p*e. He doesn’t really bother with dogs whilst on his walks but will play if given the opportunity.

He is good with commands and is good meeting and greeting new people and dogs.

Things to be aware of:
Ernie needs to be neutered at 18 months so this will be done once he has been rehomed. The charity will organise and pay for this at a vet out our choosing.

He is also a bit of a grazer, but this is being addressed whilst in foster. By the time he ‘goes home; he will have 2 regular meals a day.

The ideal home:
Ernie will suit any loving home.

He has a fabulous nature and has been great with the children in foster. It would be lovely for him to have an equally friendly and playful fur brother or sister but as Ernie isn’t yet neutered, any resident dog will need to be sterilised.

He enjoys having human company and being a part of everything that is going on in the home so ideally he will be taken out and about and be treated as part of the family and not left for long periods.

Other comments:

Ernie has been a wonderful boy in foster, he is well socialised and has good manners and he will make a lovely addition to any family.

To all my fellow dog lovers please come and find me at the Aldridge Dog Festival at Aldridge Acres Secure Dog Park WS9 0RL on Sunday 4th September from 10:00am.

I will be running a stall to support the amazing charity Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue where we have lots of information about our dogs looking for new homes and a huge tombola with some great prizes.

With the weather warming up outside over the coming days it’s so important to look after our fur babies.

REMEMBER a dog has never died from not being walked but a dog suffering from heatstroke can so please think before you decide to take your pups outside.

If you have to take your pups out then early morning walks and late night walks are recommended.

Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue UK are an English Bulldog, non-profit registered charity.

We are always looking for volunteer foster families across the UK - especially DOG FREE AND DOG & CHILD FREE.

Fostering a dog can be hard work but it can also be very rewarding, please read on if this could be you.....

Our fosters are guided by us from the time the foster dog arrives, through assessment to a point where the dog is ready for adoption. This can take a matter of weeks to a few months depending on their circumstances.

Most of our dogs will need veterinary treatment, from spay / neuter, to more serious conditions which could require daily medication so you will be required to attend vet appointments as required and provide after care post surgery.

Some dogs will not be able to live with other dogs, so 'dog free' foster homes are highly sought after but most dogs can live in family environments with children and other dogs.

Please note, if there are friendly resident dogs, we would need to see evidence that the dog(s) is sterilised... we dont want any "accidents"

You will be responsible for walking your dog and assessing their behaviour around other dogs and in situations such as road walking, meeting people, people coming into the home, being in a car etc

We pay for all the items required for the foster dog i.e food, bedding, lead, toys etc and of course the vets bills.

All we ask is that you treat our dog as you would treat your own and we are on hand to help every step of the way.

💜 Previous dog ownership experience
🐾 Secure garden
💜 Someone at home for most of the day
🐾 Ability to travel to vets
💜 Ability to observe and update admin on behaviours and any medical issues
🐾 Willingness to post photo updates regularly onto our Facebook Group

Had the most amazing day at Crufts today, so many beautiful dogs.

Absolutely loved meeting the awesome team at Geordie Bullies Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue UK and feel so proud to be part of this amazing charity.

The best part was getting to meet all our lovely bulldogs especially the kisses and cuddles I got from them all 🥰

Been a busy day today starting with Tony who was very keen to say hello to the local Swan in Sutton Park, no Tony you can’t go swimming with the swan 😂😂

Then Rosie got to play with a new friend, Rocket you were such a good boy but you always are 😉.

Finishing off with the beautiful Seth who came round for his wash and blow dry 🐶🛁

Time for a 🍺 me thinks and then a good night sleep as tomorrow I am off to Crufts 🤗🤗 super excited now 😁
