Really good read for anyone with a double coated breed who worries they need shaving during the summer due to them being too hot 🥵 I have this conversation with customers nearly weekly during the warmer months & will always refuse to shave and do my best to explain why I won’t shave them & that I’m not just being an awkward groomer 😂

Much better for them to have a good bath and deshed to get out any undercoat & loose hair 🐶

As it’s getting warmer my diary is getting busier and busier by the day! I’m now fully booked until June with no space to squeeze anyone extra in. If you have your dog groomed less than every 8/9 weeks I do advice you book 2/3 appointments in at a time & if you aren’t yet booked in drop me a message to book 🤍

Dear DEFRA,

It is clear that whoever wrote your confirmation standards to define an XL Bully type dog has little understanding of the physical attributes of any living being. Did your experts have a bad day when they wrote this?

Maybe the coffee machine wasn't working and they were too sleepy to think?

Maybe their only qualifications are in cat behaviour which has led to a lack of understanding about the anatomy of dogs?

We draw your attention to the part highlighted in blue, you do realise that this would describe every none brachycephalic dog on the planet?

Now moving on to pink highlights, could we point out that a shoulder blade is a bone, by definition a bone cannot be muscly, it's an anatomical impossibility.

We would also like to point out that dogs don't have arms, they have four legs, could you direct us to the location of a dogs upper arm please?

In addition, although not highlighted, column 2, 2/3rds of the way down, dogs have paws, cows have hooves, humans have feet, just thought that might be helpful for your experts to know 😉

We wonder if you could have made yourselves look any more foolish when releasing vital information, I suppose we should be thankful that this is the final draft, dread to think what the earlier ones contained, maybe fingers, opposing thumbs? The mind boggles but it's clear anything can't be ruled out!

May we suggest that you go back to the drawing board, this time consult an expert who understands the anatomy of canines.

As much as we love cats we believe cat behaviourists should stick to their area of expertise and leave the dogs to those who at least understand the basics!

Hi everyone,

An itchy subject to start off the day 😂

Unfortunately fleas are currently at an all time high and the amount of dogs coming into my van with fleas has more than doubled. Where id normally groom 3/4 dogs a month with fleas I’m now grooming 3/4 dogs a week with them.

I completely understand they’re very difficult to see but if you do notice fleas on your dog before the groom please let me know and we can rearrange.
When I do have a dog in my van with fleas I then have to cancel my next dog booked in to deep clean the van and it can become very frustrating as it’s money and time lost and also messes around appointments for my other customers.

I’ve attached a link to the rspca where you can find all the information you need for treating your dog and also your home. (Only 5% of fleas/eggs live on your dog, the other 95% live in your home so it is essential to deep clean and treat your house as well as your dog)

I can imagine you all feel as itchy reading this as i do writing it 😂
