Woke up this morning to the worst news. Sweet Fifi’s condition had deteriorated rapidly and without warning. Sadly, her family had to make the most difficult decision, say goodbye and send her off over to the rainbow bridge.

I’m just heart broken for Fifi and her family. No matter how many years we get with our dogs it never ever seems enough.

I look forward to the day I see you again Fifi ❤️💔

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

As a mark of respect EHP will be closed on Monday the 19th September 2022, the day of the funeral for our Queen Elizabeth II.

Any bookings made prior to today will be honoured but carried out before 10:30AM. If you usually book in for a Monday but haven’t done so yet, please make alternative arrangements.

We will be back to work as usual on Tuesday 20th September. Thank you for your understanding xx

For the husband who phoned his wife to say I love you one last time before his plane crashed 🖤 For the wife who stopped in the stair well to call her husband and say I will love you forever 🖤 For the mummy's and daddy's who kissed their kids goodbye in the morning and died that day 🖤 For the policemen who rushed in to help the firemen only to die themselves 🖤 For the Search & Rescue teams and their dogs who searched tirelessly for survivors 🖤 For the soldiers who have fought the battle ever since that day and lost their lives 🖤 We remember them all today...... 20 years on 🖤🖤

We knew this would happen.........🥲🥲🥲

Birmingham Dogs Home’s kennels are currently at full capacity as we receive record number of dogs being handed in every day.

Between February and June 2022, we received over 80 dogs every month which is more than double the number we received in the same months in 2021. We have capacity for over 120 dogs in Solihull and 90 more in our Wolverhampton centre and every kennel is full. Our canine carers are working hard to help every dog and to find new homes for them as quickly as possible, but we are stretched to our limits”.

We are appealing to local dog lovers to consider offering a second chance of happiness to these dogs who find themselves homeless through no fault of their own.

This is our 130th birthday year and as we are marking this significant milestone of 130 years of caring, since we were founded in 1892, the current situation shows how vital the work of our charity still is today. We will continue to support the Midlands community and be here for every dog that needs us for many years to come.

I remember when you were twinkling around in your mummy’s tummy and thinking, hoping, praying I get you all as clients so I could watch you grow.

I’ve loved this past year watching you all grow into the gorgeous, confident and playful pups you are. Never change my sweet pups ❤️
