Is there any better sight than seeing a rescue dog enjoying a little snooze in their new home?

This is Zena, she was recently rehomed from our centre and our team had never seen her sleep!

Our dogs can struggle in the kennel environment which is why we do our best to ensure they get as much exercise, mental stimulation and socialising whilst in our care but nothing can compare to a loving home with their own sofa!

This helps just show you that the dogs behaviour in our kennels is not a true reflection of their personality - lots can change in a home and it's usually always for the better!

Wishing a big happy 5th birthday to our Teddy. Teddy has been part of the Fitpaws family since he was a pup. He literally puts a smile on our face everyday with his funny little ways and he does look all sweet and innocent but oh does he love to roll. We love you Teddy boy 🐶🐾🥳.

Volunteers Needed

Are you able to dedicate 2-3 hours of your weekend to support our cause in aiding homeless dogs?

Birmingham Dogs Home is seeking dedicated individuals who share our passion for making a difference. By joining us, you'll play a vital role in raising awareness and crucial funds for the dogs under our care.

Volunteering opportunities will be available on specific dates throughout the year, exclusively at our partnered Pets at Home store in Solihull.

Rest assured, comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure you make the most meaningful impact during your volunteer experience.

***** Cattle Grazing *****

The summer cattle grazing period will begin next week on Monday 29th April 2024. The grazing of cattle within the park stretches back to at least 1126 and together with the medieval deer herd helped to create and shape the landscape we enjoy today. The continuation of grazing on site maintains the diversity of habitats and plant communities that ensure the survival of many plant and animal species so commonly lost elsewhere. This diversity is what makes Sutton Park so special and so very important at both a regional and national level! As always we ask park users to behave responsibly around our grazing animals, please give them the space they require to move about freely, please ensure dogs are kept under appropriate control, and to kindly never feed an animal in the park (cattle or pony)!

Been house sitting with the beautiful Wilf the last few days. He is a retired racing greyhound who has been one of the lucky ones to find his retired forever comfy couch and he is such lovely company. So many more greyhounds need their forever comfy couch, please always consider the greyhound rescues they are a truly beautiful breed 🐶🐾❤️
