For Seramas or small-sized chickens:

For Bantams:

🐓Feathered Friend Friday🐓
This week’s feathered friend is the Vorwerk pronounced for-verk, the Vorwerk is a breed of chicken originating in Germany.
The breed was created using Lakenvelders, utility type buff Orpington’s, buff Sussex and Andulasians.
Vorwerk’s are alert and active and generally docile, suitable for novices. They can fly reasonably well.
They lay around 170 cream eggs per year.

☀️Tips to keep your flock cool☀️
Chickens cannot sweat and will pant during the hot weather. Chickens do something called flushing- they drink lots of water to keep themselves cool from the inside out.
Here are some of our tips to keep your poultry cool:
☀️Provide LOTS of shaded areas
☀️Make ice lollies buy freezing some of their favourite treats in a muffin tin or ice cube tray
☀️Add some ice cubes to their water to keep it cool throughout the day
☀️dust baths!
☀️Provide a shallow tub of water for the chickens to stand in to cool down

Currently we have 15 different hybrid breeds including Bluebells, Copper blacks, Rhode Rock, Lavender Splash, Silver Duckwing Leghorn, Partridge Leghorn, Heritage Skylines, Light Sussex, Silver Sussex, RIR and more.
In purebreeds we have in Large, Wyandottes and Buff Orpingtons in standard size we have Araucanas, Appenzellers, Vorwerks and Campines in Bantams we have Sablepoots, Brahmas, wyandottes, silkies, pekins, Polands and Padovanas. Here's a few of them.
