Increasingly I'm finding dogs with matted tails, ears and cheeks right at the skin. Although they are clearly being brushed, the problem lies in the fact that the bristles aren't getting down to skin level. Previously I have dematted these areas however it's painful for your dog and painful for me too as I have now developed tendonitis. The best way to stop this happening is using a comb on these areas. I'm happy to show you how on your next visit. In the future however I will not be dematting but shaving these areas. Please don’t be offended if I get my comb out when you arrive - but it's the best way to show you where the problems are. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Mary Ann

Grumpy post alert. I will no longer be following up on text messages with the suggested groom date and time. If I haven't heard back from you within 24 hours, I'll release that appointment to someone else. If you still want an appointment, I'll fit your dog in when I can but my waiting list is a minimum of six weeks. As per my terms of business, if it's over ten weeks since the last groom, an extra £5 will be added to the regular groom price. Thank you, Mary Ann.

Dear Customers, Following the price hike in energy bills, unfortunately I am going to have to increase my prices again from the 1st October. I hate having to do this but it is a necessity. In case any of you are wondering why, my main costs are the hairdryers to dry your lovely dogs and make them as gorgeous as possible. I will be adding £3 to all current groom prices. Mary Ann

I don't like having to write posts like this but it has now become necessary. Unfortunately I'm finding some clients are getting later and later at drop off but especially pick up. I always give an approximate pick up time and text 15 minutes beforehand however recently some clients have picked their dogs up 25 minutes late. But even being 5-10 minutes late affects the rest of my day, meaning I have to rush to finish subsequent dogs or don't have enough time cleaning between dogs. I think you all know, I love your dogs and love having a cuddle with them afterwards but please be respectful of my time. I am therefore bringing in a late pickup charge. It will be £10 per 15 minutes late. If you are 15 minutes late for drop off, your dog will not be groomed however you will still be charged full price for the groom. I know there will be times when it can't be helped and of course I will take this into consideration. Like I said, I don't like having to write posts like this but unfortunately it's happening too often now. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Mary Ann

If you have to walk your dog this weekend, do it early doors. I always remember someone saying 'No dog has ever died from not having a walk' but plenty of dogs can die if walked in hot temperatures
