🌟 Team Buddys profile series 🌟

Our next Buddy’s legend is Rachel Hughes! With over an incredible 25 years working in kennels, it’s safe to say Rach has well and truly found her calling. For her, this isn’t just a job – it’s a way of life. Dogs, cuddles, and muddy pawprints are basically her love language!

🐕 The Border Collie in disguise – that’s Rach. Always on the move, always in control, and only stopping if there is shortbread on offer! Even as annual leave days come around, you will find her protesting the whole way out the door of her last shift. If she could pick a superpower, it’d be ‘super strength’ – though between wrangling dogs, cleaning kennels, and keeping us all in line, we think she already has it!

🌷 When Rach does take a break from Buddy’s (a rare event, mind you), her garden is where she can be found lovingly tending to her plants like they’re just another pack of four-legged friends or dashing around helping out family with that same unstoppable energy we see here!

🎵 As for music, Rach’s taste is as timeless as her work ethic – from ELO to Elvis, her playlist is a trip through the 60s to the 80s. The only problem? Matt’s obsession with country music. So, every morning turns into a high-stakes dash to the stereo – will it be “Jolene” or “Mr. Blue Sky”?

In short - Her energy, humour, and heart make every day brighter – for both the humans and the hounds. Whether she’s covered in fur, mud, or surrounded by flowers, one thing’s for sure: we’re so lucky to have her as part of our Buddy’s family.

🌟 Team Buddy’s Profile Series 🌟

Next up on our proud shout-outs is the marvellous Megan Hayman — a whirlwind of energy, snacks, and animal cuddles!

Meet Megan:
🏐 Known as the busiest lady alive, Megan somehow bends time. If she’s not here at Buddy’s keeping everything in check, she’s on the netball court smashing through three games back-to-back (often after a full day of walking dogs), running after horses, walking Rufus, or managing the kids’ chaos with superhero-level multitasking. Honestly, we’re starting to suspect she might be Wonder Woman!

🍔 The way to Megan’s heart? Food. All food. Sweet, savoury, spicy, saucy — she doesn’t discriminate (although she does draw the line at popcorn 🤷‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️). The only thing that matters is quantity. Bonus points if it comes with extra sides and dessert (or two).

🐴 🐕 Megan has been horse-obsessed since before she could even walk — she was riding by 18 months old and had her very own horse by the age of six… and her love for four legged animals continues which is evident even at 6am in the dark, rain and cold walking Buddys Buddies like its a walk on the beach!

Full of laughter, kindness, and unstoppable drive (and probably a snack or two hidden somewhere). We don’t know how she does it all, but we’re very glad she does!

Let’s all please share some love for Megan and her gorgeous lad Rufus… the unstoppable duo!!

🌟Team Buddys Profile Series🌟

Time to shine the spotlight on another one of our amazing team members – and this time, we have the brilliant Holly – Our not-so-quiet-anymore apprentice Holly joined us on a Level 2 animal behaviour and canine management apprenticeship which she has smashed out the park and now flying through her Level 3. When she first started at Buddys, she wouldn’t say boo to a goose… now the real challenge is getting a word in edgeways (and honestly, we love it!)

Meet Holly:
🏍️Zooming to work on her little 125, Holly’s motorbike suits her energy perfectly… small, full of beans and stacks of personality!
🦅Holly is an all-round animal lover, but birds are her Jam – She will often stop you mid-convo to identify a bird call in the distance… who knew we had so many different birds around here!
🐶Whether it’s a nervous newbie, or a dog with attitude, Hollys got the patience and kindness to win them over (this goes for the dogs and the humans 😜).

Holly has truly grown into a proper Buddys superstar 💫– It has been amazing watching her confidence soar and we couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved so far. The dogs adore her, the team loves her and lets be real - the birds definitely love her (she is the only one that makes sure the bird feeder are topped up 🐥).

We are so lucky to have you Holly – Keep being your brilliant and amazing self… you might be a twin, but you truly are a one of a kind.

🌟Team Buddys Profile Series🌟

Our second team profile piece looks to celebrate a true Buddys legend, our longest-serving team member - The one and only SARAH! 🐾Dachshund mad with her furry partner in crime Coco featured in these gorgeous photos.

Meet Sarah;
☕ Fuelled by coffee night or day, rain or shine - Time doesn’t affect how much of a buzz is delivered in each cup, she runs on pure caffeine and good vibes.
🚙 If she isn’t at Buddys or at Home, she is off grid on an adventure in her little blue van, Dobby - Chasing sunsets, campfires and probably more coffee.
🎁The most thoughtful human ever – With a magical ability to pick the most perfect, personalised gifts for literally any occasion and any team member. Birthday? Easter? Slightly bad Tuesday?... Sarahs got it covered.
🎵 And yes… you’ll probably hear Sarah before you see her – Whether it is laughter, talking to the dogs like they are best friends who haven’t seen each other in month or belting out Queen classics… We need more people like Sarah in the world – the ones whose energy fills a room before they even walk in!

From early opens to late night staff BBQs and everything in between, Sarah has been part of Buddys foundations from day one and one of the biggest reasons Buddys feel like home to anyone that walks through our doors. We would be lost without her – and so would the dogs.

Yesterday was a special day for celebrating the pups who make our lives brighter, sillier, and so much more full of love. At Buddy’s, dogs are at the heart of everything we do — so of course, couldn’t resist showing off the Buddy’s team own four-legged best friends! 🐶❤️

Well, we had to kick this off with the guy who literally keeps the treats topped up and the tails wagging… MATT!

If you’ve been through our doors, chances are you’ve been greeted by his smile… Matts passion for every single pup who trots in, and his unwavering love for all things Buddy’s, is the glue that keeps us all together.

✨ Meet Matt:
• 🏉 Lifelong Northampton Saints fan (don’t try and book him during a big game!)
• 🥃 Bourbon lover through and through…. don’t even whisper “Scotch” in his direction
• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Proud uncle to 7 nieces and 1 nephew — affectionately known as ‘Uncle Thor’… the man’s got “cool uncle” status on lockdown!
•🚶‍♂️ Matts average step count is around 30,000 per day - Basically the human version of a Border Collie!

We think you’ll all agree — Buddy’s just wouldn’t be Buddy’s without Matt! 💚💛🖤
