Camino de Santiago completed. Hooray. It's been a challenge but so worth every minute. The last 10km today, setting off at 7.15am in pouring rain all the way.
Arrived in Santiago de Compastella, got signed off and our certificates. The most deserved hot chocolate ever while we steamed a bit drier.
Attended the 12noon Pilgrims Mass. Not my usual thing and in Spanish too, but the sense of cameraderie and achievement in the Cathedral was amazing.
Such a beautiful building and city. We accidentally met a couple of fellow walkers for lunch for a lovely hour. At last the sun came out so used its warmth to get dry and explore. Even I needed a siesta today. Next stop, hot shower dinner, then a taxi to the airport at 4.30am tomorrow.
It's been an amazing ten days spent with my friend Glenis whose suggestion this was last year.
And along the way, over £500 raised for Cure CJD in memory of my friend Jillian Garner who passed in December.
