**POLITE NOTICE**

Just a gentle reminder to our clients, could you please refrain from parking further down the cul-de-sac as a few of our neighbours have had issues with accessing their drives or receiving deliveries due to parked cars.

At busy periods of time please park considerately and utilise the spaces provided. Alternatively parking on Repton Road is allowed.

Thank you for your cooperation 🐾

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Due to a huge increase in “no show” appointments, both routine and surgical, we are now enforcing a 3 strike policy.

This means that for each missed appointment, where the practice is not informed, you will have a strike added to your account. If you receive 3 strikes, you will be asked to find an alternative practice for your animals care.

We understand accidents do happen and we are happy to reschedule appointments, but we do require 48 hours notice for surgical procedures and 24 hours for routine appointments.

This will come into place immediately as we have many clients/animals waiting for earlier appointments and surgery dates.

Thank you for your understanding 🐾

CLIENT NOTICE

As a small practice we are always very friendly and chatty with our clients. We always try to help and support you and your pets in every way possible but unfortunately over the last few weeks many of our staff members have received a huge increase in messages/message requests relating to veterinary concerns or advice, most of these being out of hours.

We do try out best to provide out of hours treatment, currently at Pride Veterinary Centre, and will always respond to emails as soon as possible but we kindly ask that clients do not contact any members of our team, through their personal accounts, for any veterinary advice or treatment.

Thank you for your understanding,
Hartshorne Vets ❤️

Has anyone seen this gorgeous little lady? She's been missing since Monday evening where she was last seen around High Street/Hepworth Road area of Woodville. She is microchipped but not wearing a collar. Her owners are very worried about her, especially as the weather has been so awful.

All of our staff are following the required veterinary standards and only have your pets best interest at heart.

We offer various products to help reduce the stress of bonfire night and relax your pets. Some of these products work best when administered a week before the event.

Please call the practice for more information or to purchase a calming aid for your pets, including, cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs.

They were delivered by emergency caesarian and mum was very relieved to lose the 10kg of baby weight 😅

Both mum and puppies are doing very well and we look forward to seeing them back in a few weeks for their health checks 🩷💙

RCVS Update.

As of the 1st September 2023 the RCVS has introduced new regulations when dispensing medication.

The main change for us, and you, is that a veterinary surgeon has to perform a physical examination of your pet, not only to prescribe treatment such as antibiotics and controlled drugs, but also for anti-parasitic such as flea and worm treatments.

The reasoning behind this is to carefully assess if and what anti-parasitics are needed to prevent overuse and, ultimately, development of resistances.

We are asking for our clients' patience and understanding while we change our protocols to reflect the new requirements from the RCVS.
In many cases you may not be impacted at all, but you may notice you need an appointment for a physical examination before any flea and worm can be dispensed or if you want to change to a different product (eg; a spot on to a tablet form).
We understand the cost of living is difficult for everyone at the moment, and these additional vet checks may be frustrating, however please understand that this is something out of our control and any abuse towards our staff will not be tolerated.

Thank you in advance or your anticipated cooperation.

PET REGISTRATIONS**

As we are aware, many of our clients, old and new have been recommending Hartshorne Vets to friends, family and locals for many years 💚

We cannot be more grateful for the love and support shown to us and we are very proud of who we have become 🥰

Unfortunately we are having to reduce new pet registrations, temporarily, as we are becoming overwhelmingly busy with fewer appointments becoming available 🐾

With nearly 7000 animals under our care we would like to prioritise our current clients by ensuring we have the space and time for all emergencies and routine treatments 💉

We will be accepting new registrations from the following only:

- Emergencies ‼️
- Clients on holiday 🏖️
- Clients that are new to the area 🏡
- New additions to current/previous clients 🐈

For any questions or queries please call 01283 480910.

Thank you for your understanding 💚
