As the nights close in I have normally cut the paddock sessions back to match the day light. However, I have had several enquiries about later dark sessions. As most of you know planning permission does not allow flood lights so as a compromise I have put two really strong portable lights in a box that you can use. The box is padlock protected so please contact me for instructions if you would like to use them. They are in the first shelter so bring a torch to see that far 😁
To avoid unnecessary cancelations, please bear in mind lighting up times before you book. Not every one is comfortable in the dark, but we appreciate there are some of you that work all day and if you have to walk your dog in the dark, then you would prefer a secure environment.

I’m Sharing this info even though it turns my stomach….worth knowing though 😟

From a local gardener:

This tick has been on display for us to show people for a while.
After months in a sealed container without any additional feeding, she laid eggs.

This demonstrates how long a tick can remain dormant and how many eggs one female can lay.
Remember, ticks become active again in the fall/Autumn, so continue with preventive measures.

If you encounter a small pile of jelly-like balls in your garden, act immediately! These are tick eggs and they're set to hatch soon.

You can set them on fire or destroy them by soaking in isopropyl alcohol.
Make sure you wear gloves if you handle the nest, as it contains hundreds of tick eggs that will hatch in a few weeks.
I believe it's important to share this post because tick bites can be dangerous.

Stay safe and informed to protect pets yourself and your garden from these tiny but dangerous creatures!

Happy to be sat in the shade today, the dogs instinctively knew today wasn’t about running around and stayed with us. There was a lovely breeze blowing through the fence. Back to normal tomorrow, rain!!
Incidentally. We will always reschedule or refund any booking due to warm/hot weather, we appreciate that some dogs would not cope at all with the heat!
