It's been all work lately, so yesterday afternoon I downed tools early and took my best girl for a peaceful walk in the September sun.

We've had some walkie troubles lately. Over the summer Nellie decided that walkies with me were optional, and that she was opting out, in favour of lazing around the house. So we went right back to basics, and I started by getting her to walk just a few steps onto the drive, giving her a treat and letting her go back to bed. We built from there, a few steps more each day. So today, to go for a full 40 minute walk without any stop-dead protests was lovely and felt like a real milestone. It was what I needed for sure, and I think Nellie enjoyed it too.

September so far has been wonderful for my little business. It's about a year now since I started work full-time on the Bonnie Foxes dream. I was thinking I should celebrate this one-year anniversary but have yet to decide what exact date it should be! Anyway, it has been like a dream come true to have enough orders to keep me busy every day, I hope this will continue through the winter. I can't thank enough all the folks that have supported Bonnie Foxes, with likes and shares, comments, moral support, purchases, ideas, recommendations and the rest.

The Teefie Sweater for Sighthounds has been so popular that I had to order more fabric 🤭🎃 So it's back on Etsy, with 3 more available for now.

A few folks have made custom requests on this one. Multicoloured sleeves. Pink bands and trims. Custom length. There are so many options. If you have an idea get in touch, I LOVE a custom request.

Hello 👋🏼

I'm Verity, and this is my rescue greyhound girl, Nellie. Nellie adopted us 2.5 years ago and since then my life turned upside down when I walked out of my "proper job" to set up Bonnie Foxes. I now spend my days making bright, bold and beautiful clothing for sighthounds and their humans from my teeny studio in South Wales.

My focus is on making clothing that is joyful and fun, while also being high quality, professionally finished, and as environmentally friendly as possible.

Just a quick from Nellie, with her grey little snoot, pretending to be old when she's only 5 so that strangers give her extra treats and pats 🤭 Any of our friends in the young saltandpepper-snoot club?

In amongst all the sewing, I'd just like to take a moment to shout out a friend and talent, Dani

Dani and I did an art swap a few weeks ago. I made a sweater for Queen Pod Maggie and Dani created this fantastic painting of Nellie.

It came about when I asked Dani if I could send her a sweater for her podenco, Maggie, as I've never had a podenco customer and wanted to check the fit, and Dani suggested we should make it a swap 🫶🏼

Anyway, as you can see Dani has done an absolutely amazing job capturing my girl Nellie 🥹 The detail is beautiful, the colours are perfect and frankly I love it. It has pride of place in the studio ❤️

Halloween Tankies 🎃 Sneak Peak!!

Halloween Sighthound Tankies are set for release this Friday 13th September on Etsy.

While they definitely have a Halloween pumpkin vibe, in the interest of sustainability I picked something that I would be happy to dress Nellie in through the whole of the winter, rather than just on one or two days. Hope you'll agree. They're pretty fun!

There will only be 2-3 of these available. I wasn't sure how popular they would be so I only bought in a small amount of fabric.

They'll be live by tea time Friday. If you need one but scared of missing it, message me for a preorder.

We released our new autumn sighthound sweaters on Friday and what a wonderful response! Thank you so much for every like, share, kind comment and every purchase. It means the world that people are putting their faith in Bonnie Foxes. This time last year Bonnie Foxes was just this mad-hat idea in my mind. So to now have so many houndie friends and a list of orders is a complete joy.

I'm off to the studio first thing today to get started on the sewing, and I can't wait!!

Purple 💜 💜

Been working on the next sighthound crochet jacket. I was recently gifted a lot of unwanted purple wool which was sitting unloved in a cupboard. So it is 100% rescued and will soon be a much-loved greyhound coat to fit a small to medium greyhound.

It will be all purple, which is taking up a lot of my self-control, because I just have this inherent urge to use lots of colours all at once, even when its the wrong thing to do 🤣🤣

It's time for another sneak peak ahead of our big Autumn drop next week! It's starting to feel chilly and Nellie is excited!

All Bonnie Foxes sighthound sweaters are made to order and are available in whippet and greyhound sizes. You can buy with sleeves like a jumper, or without sleeves like a tankie. Just choose from the Etsy drop-down. Our sweaters are made from soft, mid-weight french terry which is the sort of fabric you expect from a sweater (heavier than a t shirt but cooler than a fleece).

Excuse my awkward pose. Unlike Nellie I am not a natural in front of the camera 🤣🤣🤣

Fab to spend the day at Clyne Gardens in Swansea yesterday. We made lots of new friends and it was lovely to have so many folks come and chat about their dogs and their latest crafting projects. Also great to meet other sellers and to see you again . I wish you sold leggings in my size!

Went to a craft fair today. Made friends with lots of doggies and their humans, and in between sales I got a good amount of crochet done 🤭

Big thanks to my lovely sister for keeping me company and supplying the tea. And an enormous thanks to the folks that came to say hi and made a few purchases. It was a pleasure!

August Bank Holiday Monday ☀️

To all my friends that live locally to swansea. Don't forget to come along to Clyne Gardens on Monday.
