The Ronnie... For humans.

Some of you might remember the Ronnie Sweater!

It's almost a year ago that asked if I could make a crayon-inspired sweater for her Greyhound boy, Ronnie, and please could it be as mad as possible!

It was such a fun make that I decided to add it to the shop in case any other hounds wanted to join the Ronnie crew, and since then we have sold a good few more!

Well it's taken me a while but I had the idea to make a human equivalent and I think you'll agree it's turned out a bit great!! Oddly though, it doesn't look as mad as I was expecting, I think I am becoming immune 🤣🤣

I've spent all this week one day behind, not quite knowing what day it is or where I'm supposed to be, all because the children had an extra inset day off school on Monday! Reminds me how much we are all creatures of habit!

Work-wise it's been super busy. In contrast to recent weeks, this week was full with orders. So thank you for that, it has really put a spring back in my step! I've had fun making some hound jumpers and tankies, a human jumper, some bandanas and a couple of scrunchies! I have a few works still in progress so I'll share those next week, but you can see some of the other highlights in the pics!

And, for anyone wondering, I still haven't finished my bathroom tiles. But hey there's always next week!

I just wanted to share this little one-off whippet fleece that I have now available, ready to send.

It's not recycled fleece unfortunately but it's made with an offcut, salvaged from another project. It's a really lovely quality and will keep one lucky whippet nice and toasty.

Size is large whippet ( #10) to fit chest 60-64 cm. Garment length (excluding neckband) is 59 cm.

Price is £31.20 all in.

As with all my ready to send items at the moment this price includes 20% off. I'm offering it up on the socials before listing on Etsy so am throwing in a free p&p too. So it's a bargain.

We went on a trip out this afternoon to Lliw Reservoir, as recommended recently by my good friend . We'd never been there before even though it's only a 25 minute drive from home.

We had a beautiful walk along woodland paths, and the views across the reservoir were stunning. The light was perfect for pictures, I didn't edit these at all.

Nellie made me laugh when she hopped straight into the car and sat down. Normally she stands and waits to be lifted in, and almost never sits (ever!) but maybe she was feeling good about the trip 🤣🤣

Anyway just thought I'd share a few snaps. There's even a rare bonus shot of Mr Bonnie Fox. Don't tell him. He doesn't have social media so will never know 🤭🤭🤭

Exciting news!

I've added a section in my shop with ready made sighthound sweaters. No idea why I didn't do this sooner.

The first good thing about this is that they are ready to send so will arrive with you quickly and the second good thing is that I will run regular sales on this section so keep your eyes peeled to get a bargain! Currently they have 20% off 🥳🥳

These are two of the nine items currently ready to go. These two are one-offs made especially for this new shop section. There are also a few jumpers which were made as samples for the make-to-order lines, so these are listed at a cheaper price than you would pay on make-to-order to reflect the fact that they've been used for photos (and with the 10% extra off too). So you can get yourself a real bargain here!

Did someone mention spring!?

It has certainly felt springy in South Wales this week and the perfect weather for some snootermodelling!!

Through the winter months my focus is always on warmth, so I make all my winter sweaters with French Terry which is the sort of fabric I expect in a human sweatshirt...

But as we head into spring I'm adding a couple of t-shirts to the collection. They are made from cotton jersey, which is the sort of fabric you expect from a human t-shirt. They're thinner than our sweaters, and will help take the chill out of the early spring days for the hounds.

I'm calling them "t shirts" so that you know to expect a t-shirt-type fabric, but they can still be made with or without sleeves, you can choose as usual using the Etsy drop-down.

And tomorrow I'll be adding two more. This one in the picture is a beautiful orange daisy print which I absolutely love and have been waiting for an excuse to buy for almost a year. And the other is the fantastic 90s abstract print which you all helped me to name yesterday (check out my reels if you missed it). I will announce the chosen name tomorrow once it goes live. But thanks so much for all the suggestions, you made me chuckle and I love that you are all as enthusiastic about the design as I am!

Nellie's Gotcha Day 🥹

It's three years since we brought Nellie home. I have so much to say about this girl that I don't know where to start!

Nellie was chosen for us by the clever staff at , mostly because she was cat and child friendly. Having never met her before, I collected her with my then three year old son, who was, quite comically, dressed as a cat for World Book Day. Somehow we managed to bundle Nellie into the boot of the car and made it home.

I don't want to get into any debate about the racing industry, but in my eyes, Nellie was rescued. When she arrived with us she was shut down, terrified. It wasn't just confusion about how to behave in a home, it was proper fear. She cowered from my husband and tried to run away if we passed people on our walks. She spent the first few weeks hiding in her den under the stairs.

Nellie has never really needed much. She's very quiet, hardly ever barks, and in the first 2 years with us never really got excited. She never jumps up, doesn't pull on walks. She's gentle with children, fine with other dogs. The only thing she really needed from us was time and patience.

Three years on it still amazes me how she is like a different dog from the one we started with. She wags her tail, her ears are up and she leaps around with excitement at mealtimes. Unless there is food involved she is the laziest dog I have ever met, and would happily stay in bed rather than go out for a walk if we gave her the choice. Though, if we are all going out somewhere in the car as a family, then she insists on coming too. Probably because she gets a treat when she jumps into the boot.

I feel so lucky that it's Nellie we brought home. She is the best girl, and without her who knows where I would be. I often think about how much I owe her, and I hope she knows how loved she is. 

So happy gotcha day my girl, here's to the next year and onwards xx
