Under 12’s match report sponsored by Rainbow Cottage Dog Services

Cwm Wanderers 5 - 2 Cwmamman

We knew this was going to be a good game and one we were confident in winning.

We didn't expect Cwmamman to take a 2 nil lead so early on. They were right up for it and kept the momentum going.

You could feel the energy in the air and how much they wanted to beat us. Clearly to show Dilan that he joined the wrong team.

Thanks to Cian, he managed to bag us a goal not long before the half time whistle.

However, half time me and Paul had a good chat with the boys and pointed out where they are going wrong, and how they can fix this. They acknowledged their mistakes and were ready to go out and make this right for the boys and most importantly, Dilan.

Second half underway and we were all over them. We missed a few chances and knew they only had that one boy who would just kick the ball far up field off the goal kick or big throws into the box which Alfie intercepted everytime. Well done Alfie.

This is when the game started to change for us and goals started to fly in. Fred managed to hit the back of the net around 50 minutes which put us level and put alot of pressure and frustration on Cwmamman. You could see the difference in them compared to the first half.

We changed a few boys around and in different positions.

Rhiley was put on through to goal and found the net to put us a head. Not long after Cian managed to get another goal. The boys were on fire then and were hungry for more.

Another lovely ball put through to Cian and rhiley with both out pacing their defense and Cian smacked it into the net.

The lads put all their effort into this win for Dilan. A well deserved win and what we needed to hopefully seal our position to finish third in the league.

Fred ⚽
Rhiley ⚽
Cian ⚽⚽⚽

MOTM

Dilan deserved this MOTM as he didn't let Cwmamman get into his head. He should them how strong he is as a character and that they couldn't break him and played great football. He even played right back for a bit which is not his position but he bossed it and played some lovely balls up the wing.

He showed how skilful he is, strong and determined. He didn't complain once about anything and got on with the game. Keep up the great work Dilan boy. There is only one Cwm!!!!!!!

Thank you everyone for the most amazing support, it's really helped me yesterday. I had a foot injury at mile 9 and had to walk 17 miles in agony. I was so disappointed to be walking so early on as I know I can run further. But I was determined to finish in under 8 hours before the cut off, so I gritted my teeth and walked as fast as my little legs could. Was so happy to cross the finish line in 7hrs 53 minutes!

No photos, but today I did 2 very good dog training sessions. The first was with Bella, and we worked on loose lead walking. Bella was a lovely dog to work with and after 20 minutes was definitely walking with the lead loose, although lots of practicing needed.
The next session was with Ada, who likes to bark at animals on the TV. We worked on some desensitisation training and she soon realised that treats were far more interesting than the animals. Such a sweet dog who was really keen to learn and please her owners.
I am still practicing being a dog trainer and today's clients have really given my confidence a little boost πŸ˜ƒ

Another training session today with the gorgeous Willow. We managed to get it done just in time before the rain came.
Started with the first basic steps of recall, eye contact and loose lead walking. Such a clever little dog and a joy to train

Cwm 7 - Ponty 2

A very cold morning for both teams.

I'm not sure what happened to the boys this morning compared to the last game.

It was as if we didn't turn up. Yes we won, however, we could have played so much better.
Our touches were heavy, ball watching, not working back, no communication or ball calling.

After we had a chat with them half time. They picked it up a bit. We could have beaten these so much more. It was a lesson learnt, if this was one of our rivals and we played like this we would have lost.

I don't want to put a dampener on a win. But it's back to the drawing board again for us coaches too see what went wrong today and how we can improve the boys.

MOTM

Our very own Osian Phillips. The lad was outstanding today. He was very strong at the back. Always looking before he passed and was stopping most players that got in his way. He just kept giving and giving.

Always listens to us and does what we ask of him. A very well respected asset of the team.

Keep up the good work Osian boy!!!!
