After a couple of days in the cart around our fields, sherry made it out onto the road today! She’s a little superstar and is just so genuine. A few more drives out on the road to gain her experience then she’s heading off home to further her education and have some fun 🥰
Sherry’s first time with the cart behind her and she behaved amazingly.
You may wonder why there’s two people holding onto her head with lead ropes - (they are attatched to the head collar under the bridle not the bit). - This is because sherry has taken a while to settle with the sounds behind her and not being able to see them due to the blinkers. So to prevent any injuries or damage to the cart we have two people up front, and me behind attatched to the long reins. Is she was ever to get spooked and try to shoot off, between the three of us we can stop her. Meaning we were stopping her from injuring herself from all of the tack and cart, and also preventing damaging the cart in any way.
Luckily for us she wasn’t worried at all today 🥰
Finally back home and can get this little mare going now.
Sherry towing the tyre behind her to get her ready for a cart 😁 she just takes everything in her stride.
And the official video is finally finished 😍 I can now see in some clips why max and I were slightly too fast 🤣
He’s such a machine out on a cross country course (let’s ignore my little oh sh*t moment on the steps) 😃❤️
Bailey (the little coloured with the black jacket). The 4 year old that was broken in by me last summer after buying her off Chloe Evans (CM Equestrian). She looked after her new jockey on BOTH of their first hunts today!!
Bailey took everything in her stride and stayed as cool as a cucumber all morning. I think she definitely gave her jockey some confidence as they came back with a nice big smile on their face 🥰
She is such a sweetheart and just so easy to do everything with. I’m so happy to see someone enjoying riding with her ❤️
Sidney standing like a rock for my last ride on him yesterday evening. At least we know if you need to get off half way through your hack you’ll have no trouble getting back on from a fence or wall!! He’s been an absolute pleasure to break and I can’t wait to watch his journey with Leah extend and grow 🥰
Bit of a different video today. I thought I’d show how well Sid is doing with his confidence and standing like a rock for me to get on him myself, as well as doing the girth on top of him ❤️
Most of the time I will get a leg up as it reduces the pulling on their back from getting on like this, however I think it’s still extremely important for young horses to learn how to stand while someone gets on them without any help, as we haven’t always got someone around for a leg up!
Sid and I caught a lovely sunset on our way home last night 😍 his first hack out completely alone - no one on the ground walking or another horse and he was amazing. Even with all of the bins out and blowing around in the wind 😄
Our recently broken 5 year old ‘Cookie’ out for a spin today trying her new saddle out 😁 also being very confident leading the hack the whole way round. Max is one of the best baby sitters out there 😂❤️
Sid being super relaxed on his first hack in company today, gaining even more confidence ending up in front of max!
And here Sid is 5 days later being ridden! Confidently walking forward around the roads and didn’t spook when a car would come past! Even with all of the water on the road 🥰
Sherri out on her second ever hack and being very confident going up in front! Especially with all of these scary obstacles to look at and she wasn’t even bothered. I think she’ll make a perfect kids pony 🩷
