OCTOBER SESSIONS...

October 4th - Basics of parkour - 3 SPACES REMAINING.

October 11th - Loose lead walking - 3 SPACES REMAINING.

October 18th - Scent work session by Discovery Dogs Wales - Scent Work & Mantrailing (Very excited for this!!) - 3 SPACES REMAINING.

October 25th - Refocus cues and teaching your dog to go to a place on command - 3 SPACES REMAINING.

I'm currently taking bookings for all 4 weeks in October, closer to the time I will be taking bookings for individual weeks depending on what spaces are available. Will keep the page updated on this 👀👀

Today was a sad day as it meant saying goodbye to my current Puppy Progress recruits 😪 it's lovely watching you all go with the new things you have learnt and I really hope I get to see some of you back at class again soon.

It's been really lovely getting to know you and your puppies over the past 8 weeks, and I thank you for choosing me along your training journey.

Wonderful last beyond the basics session with these guys today.

Having a recap of everything we have worked on during the course including distance control, recalls, leave exercises, loose lead working and some fitness work to finish off.

Fantastic final class with these 2 on Saturday.

Yet again, the weather was not on our side but we managed to work through lot's of training exercises and had a great walk around the lake together.

Both of these beautiful girls can be anxious around dogs, so while that may not sound like much it was a huge deal.

Thank you both for allowing me to be part of your training journey, I have throughly enjoyed watching your pups grow and develop.

This is the last of our Saturday sessions for the foreseeable future due to family commitments ❤️🐶

Today I got to visit these beautiful little puppies again ❤️❤️

Lots of sleeping today, but at nearly 5 and a half weeks old their little characters are definitely starting to come out!! I could watch them sleep all day, little legs going and their little vocalisations as they sleep 😴 🥹, there is so much going on in their brains at this age in terms of growth and development!!!

They can lap at milk now (to help give their mum a break), and are trying soaked biscuits too.

I absolutely LOVE being part of their journey and getting to watch them learn and grow!!!

It was a wet one today 🌧

But a huge thank you to you all for showing up and coming to train with me ❤️❤️

Seems we are floating between too hot or too wet at the moment 🙈🙈 hoping for a happy medium next week for our final classes 🐶

Fantastic session taking the dogs out of our usual training environment to practice training in different areas ❤️

The University of Bristol-led study, published in Scientific Reports on 22 July, is the first to test how human stress odours affect dogs' learning and emotional state.

Really enjoyed going to see these little sausages today ❤️❤️

Ears and eyes are open and they are starting to play 😍

This play is not only super cute....its really important to allow them to learn and develop both mentally and physically ❤️

Being raised in a home environment around children also gives them a huge advantage to help them when they go to their new homes 😍

These sessions will run on a Friday morning, 945 until 1045. Maximum capacity of 6 dogs per class.

Really not a post that I want to be writing, but I feel like I have to.

Today's Puppy Progress class was disrupted by 2 off lead dogs who for 45 minutes were running around out of control at the lake. When politely reminded by myself and others that dogs are not prohibited to be off the lead there, this was meet with verbal abuse and terrible language. I have had multiple clients verbally abused, one client physically abused and dogs who were gaining confidence in class too scared to train afterwards.

Firstly, it is not okay to behave in this way, especially when you as an owner are in the wrong because your dogs are dangerously out of control in a public place.

Secondly, please bear in mind, no matter the level of your dog's recall, there are areas in Swansea that dogs are not allowed off lead, for good reason. Please make sure you follow these guidelines and don't ruin things for everyone. One of these dogs had no collar on. By law, your dogs should be wearing a collar and id tag in a public place.

Finally, this is NOT a post about breed, but I feel a duty of care to mention the breeds to allow you to avoid this situation. If you see an Akita, a large black/brindle bull breed and a Chihuahua off lead, with a male and female who have no control, please turn around and walk the other way. Do not try to confront these people. I have huge love and respect for bull breeds....but unfortunately people like this are the reason they have such a bad reputation.

During week 5 of Puppy Progress we built on our puppies current leave work.

This involved adding in extra items for 'leave' as well as starting to move food towards the floor.

Really pleased with the puppies progress on their 'leave' training.

During this week's session we introduced 'going to a place on command' to our puppies training toolbox.

They responded so well to the exercise and to remaining on their mats despite the distractions going on around them.

This handsome boy was introduced to distance control exercises today, here we work on getting the basic position change before adding in any distance initially.
