Training Walks:
Struggling to keep on top of loose lead walking and/or recall training? Kat our Dog Training Leader will be offering Training Walks specifically designed to practice loose lead and recall from December. Let Kat take your dog out for a walk whilst getting that all important practice in at the same time. Already working with a dog behaviourist? Then Kat will stick to their plan and practice their techniques, ensuring consistency. (Please note we will only adhere to positive reward-based training methods and no aversive techniques or equipment). Practice is so important to conquer recall and loose lead walking, and the realities of work and life mean that we often don't have the time to spend working on these things. Kat can pop in whenever you are at work or busy in any way, so your dog can get some focussed training time in a fun and rewarding way. Enquire now to book some Training Walks with Kat

Hello All - it's the end of an era! 😢

I created the Training side of Waggy Canine Services 8 years ago now! Can you believe it! It started with just Agility, and then grew to offering Puppy Training, Hoopers Training and then additional training lessons. Our Training style has always had the same core ethos in mind : that we are here for all dogs, all owners and have the dogs wellbeing as foremost in our minds. Over the years we have had the best times with dogs who are nervous, dogs who are confident, dogs who prefer to be on their own, dogs who love other dogs and dogs who have all sorts of health considerations. Every single one of these dogs have had loving and devoted owners who we have loved just as the dogs themselves...well ALMOST as much haha!

However, with my son Arthur starting school in September, along with ever growing health commitments needed for my own ageing dogs, I have sadly made the decision to close the company in July.

I would like to emphasise that this decision has been hard fought and has taken a lot of careful consideration. I have enjoyed progressing the company these last years as well as training all your animals, and I have put my heart and soul into it, but I feel that this is the time for me to focus more on my family and move forward with other chapters of my life. I would like to express and highlight how your loyalty and support of a small company has been such a fundamental part of our success, and how grateful I will always be for this. I wish I could pick up the phone to call you all individually and explain this, but at this time I am finding it all rather emotional!

Yesterday evenings our pups had the perfect weather to try out some recall games, and get a feel for using long lines in the lovely outdoor space of our venue. They all did so well and had a great time! 🐾🥰

⭐️ We have a last minute place available on our next recall workshop! This Sunday 12th May at 1:30pm, don’t miss out! ⭐️

Do you have a dog who switches off their ears as soon as they are off lead? Would they rather be off exploring and meeting new people than checking in with you? Do they run off when they know their lead is about to go back on?

If the answer is yes then this is the workshop for you!
In a relaxed, small group environment your instructor will teach you ways to show your dog how great it is for them to come back when called. You will also gain some experience in the best way to handle a training line and get the chance to try out our super fun recall toys!
We always aim to create an environment where any questions can be asked and dogs are set up to succeed.

Our next workshop is on Sunday 12th of May at 1:30pm at our training field in Swinderby. 1hr session for up to four dogs, £20.

Our favourite chilled out Sunday night activity will always be a snuffle mat! (Volume up for some serious snuffle sounds) ❤️🐾

Sniffing is the perfect activity to lower feelings of over excitement or stress while raising serotonin to make dogs feel relaxed and happy. Snuffle mats allow treats to be hidden deep in the fabric to be sniffed out!

Our super popular recall workshops are back!

Such an amazing day of Hoopers with lots of lovely dogs! Today we had an age range from 5mths to 10yrs all doing the same sport with no limitations or adjustments, this shows just what a fun and accessible sport this is for dogs of all ages and abilities 🐾❤️

🐾🌟 Lovely sprocker Bentley and his awesome mum have been working so hard on his recall and have been making such beautiful progress! Recall can be such a difficult skill, especially for an adolescent like Bentley, but with lots of patience and lots of reinforcement it is achievable! 🌟🐾

🌟 I am so happy to announce that our Canine Hoopers lessons will be back in April!! 🌟

Canine Hoopers is a super fun obstacle based sport that focuses on communication skills between dogs and handlers. Unlike agility, this is a low impact activity making it suitable for dogs of all ages and abilities. Taught by an accredited Canine Hoopers UK instructor using only force free training methods.

👉All training is using force free, positive methods that are easy for dogs to learn. This means they are set up to achieve and to help them successfully transition these skills into the real world. This course is ideal to solidify the basics in adolescent dogs as well as introducing these skills to dogs who recently joined their family.

Welcome to our two newbies Brodie and Miele who joined our regular teams for private lessons today. It was a beautiful way to spend the day in the sunshine. Well done to all the doggos! I've had the best day and hope you have too ❤️

HOOPERS! The weekend saw Team Trojan return to the field for a private lesson. Trojan had a pretty major health scare at the start of this year, coinciding with a deterioration of his movement, muscle wastage, and ongoing management of the onset of pain. After recovering from being very unwell, along with Hydrotherapy and Physiotherapy sessions for 3+ months, we are delighted to see him back doing what Trojan loves best - having fun! Although Trojan will never again be an agility dog, Team Trojan had already pre-empted the move over to Hoopers last year, and have done little bits in the garden when he felt well enough. Just look at him now! 🐾 ❤️So, if you have an older dog that isn't able to jump around as much as they used to, but still want to keep their mind active and keep joy in their lives, then Hoopers is amazing!! (It isn't just a sport for the young and sprightly.) 👉If you would like to give Hoopers a go then please contact us now to book a place on our next course.
