Lyricwood King Arthur and Kynaston Duchy King loving their Jolly Ball Christmas present 🎁
It was a beautiful if chilly morning at the field.
Sometimes you just get too tired to stand up and eat, especially when you are lying in a bed of clover 🍀
At Lyricwood stud we like to encourage the ponies to explore their career options from an early age. Today Arthur had a go at being a paramedic - though opening the aminalintex was proving challenging 🤣
At Lyricwood stud we encourage the youngsters to explore their career options as early as possible. Today Arthur thought he’d have a go at being a paramedic - though he struggled with opening the animal lintex packet 🤣🤣🤣
Lyricwood King Arthur is determined to make friends with the ‘big’ boys. Swanwick Jetstream is not so keen as bitter experience tells him, April will get after him - but today she’s too busy tucking into her new food to care ☺️
Destiny has taken to her new mummy duties very well, though I miss her like crazy.
Well this isn’t a week I want to relive. On Monday April took a sudden turn for the worse and it was only the hospitals diligent monitoring and quick reactions to upgrade all her drugs that saved her life. She’s got a strong fighting spirit and has battled through. It looks like we are out the other side and all being well her and Arthur will be coming home Friday. I’m keeping everything crossed ###
Just back from a visit to the hospital. I’m relieved to report April is much more herself and happily ate the apples I brought. As you can see Arthur is on fine form too ❤️❤️❤️ It will still be a couple more days before they can come home but we are definitely over the worst now 😊
Yeah at last! First foal is on the ground. Well done Village April and Lyricwood Merlin ❤️
Cyril earnt himself 5 gold stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
With Dusty off sick Cyril seemed to know he needed to step up and he really tried his heart out for me today. Jumping is not his “thing” but I’m super proud of him today. A big shout out to Cassie Price instructor extraordinaire for her encouragement and patience in teaching us.
#OperationJumping With Dusty out of action poor Cyril (Akehurst Take a Chance) is having to prove that Dales are the true allrounder. Having sat and watched my wonderful friend Kerry Alexander jump her two ponies in a few lessons, my desire to try and make Cyril into some kind of show jumper has returned (it’s not his favourite discipline). So here is the start of our new journey!
Dusty and Cyril this morning playing the wellie game. Normally whoever lets go looses but when Cyril plays he won’t hold the wellie he just tickles Dusty until he lets go. Boys will be boys 🤷🏼♀️
It’s Gwinny’s last full day with us before she heads off to her new home.
Gwinny felt she needed to oversee the clipping of Dusty. Never too young to introduce her to the clippers. She had absolutely no fear. Oh the temptation to clip a little heart on her - but she needs her fluff to keep her warm. I don’t think clipping her will be an issue in the future.
A huge shout out to The Horse Transporter for ensuring Wain’s first journey and was safe and enjoyable.
Lyricwood Sir Gwaine lived up to his name and travelled perfectly like a true hero to his new home. I’m so proud of my little man. Good luck on your new adventures. Katie Lovegrove we are always just a phone call away if you need anything ❤️
Playtime this morning, after an hour and half of this each morning; it’s no wonder the foals need to sleep afterwards.
Dog and puddle proof already. Gwinny & Wain having a trot around the arena.
