This is terrible and shocked really that anyone especially groomers would find this amusing... it's no wonder some dogs have issues with grooming..
Needless to say this is not something I do or have ever done.. I have dogs that hate the blaster so use a lower pressure dryer that they can cope with.. I have dogs that hate clippers so I scissor instead because that is what they can cope with..
Work with the dog... create trust and a bond.
I'm not here to just get the job done. I want all dogs that come into my care to know I don't intend to make them distressed and do all I can to keep them comfortable.
Even muzzles I refuse to use unless a dog is positively muzzle trained as again this increases stress which is not my bag.
So that's my 2 pennies.
🚨 Groomers, We Need to Talk! 🚨
A worrying trend is circulating on TikTok—pointing a forced air dryer directly into a dog's face. ❌ This is NOT acceptable grooming practice, and as an industry, we need to speak up!
Here’s why this should never be done:
🐶 Causes Extreme Stress – Blasting air directly at a dog’s face can be terrifying and overwhelming.
⚠️ Risk of Eye & Ear Damage – High-pressure air can cause irritation, dryness, or even injury to sensitive areas.
😟 Creates Bad Training Habits – Instead of desensitising dogs to dryers, this method reinforces fear and resistance.
📢 Professional grooming is about skill, care, and respect for the animal’s welfare. No reputable association or grooming expert would endorse this. Let’s educate, not exploit for views.
🚫 Stop the trend. Speak up for the dogs. 🚫
