But of a photo dump of the colours we are managing to get from some of these corals is just π₯π₯
10ml of Ab+ has been working really well along with alot of feeding.
I have always been worried about over feeding a tank but with close monitoring of this one we have gone on the heavy side.
Live food every day
1 cube frozen garlic brine
Few pellets (not to many only a pinch)
Reef roids every 2 or 3 days tank fed rather than direct,
Nori every other day.
Nitrate 9.6
Phosphates 0.03
Kh 7.8
Magnesium 1450
Calcium 430
At the moment looking to raise kh to around 8.5 but slowly.
Still dosing all for reef along with kh buffer
Every tank is different please don't just dump more food into your tank than your system can handle π
Happy reefing πͺΈπͺΈπͺΈ

Week 14 update
Parameters
Kh 8.7
Phosphate 0.05
Nitrate 7.8
Magnesium 1435
Salinity 1.026
Maintenance and food
20L water change A week
Ab+ 10ml per day
Phytoplankton 10ml every other day
Reefroids every other day
2 x frozen blocks a day
Iodine 10ml every 2 weeks
Theme to this update is ........ Growth
As always stability is key keeping your levels where you want them without chasing numbers I mostly only ever focus on kh aslong as I keep it 8.7 consistently the rest just falls in place.
Consistently feeding the corals help not only with growth but colouration, On the reef there is a constant food source through the water coloum so why would we not try to mimic that in our systems
Within the capability of the bio load.
We have a couple of black leopard wrasse in the tank which before the lights go out love to stir up the sand burying the corals on the sand bed, I used to get worried about this killing the corals but one thing I have observed over the past few week corals are very capable of getting sand off of themselves. Thus eliminating the need to intervene which in turn let's the corals feel more at home.

I removed the carbon from the reactor then started dosing in the morning then again in the evening once lights are off its been a week since we started the dose all fish are looking 100% better πthere's 3 more day left to go on the dosage then we will run carbon once again.
1 cube of frozen brine in garlic everyday
Dosing AB+ everyday 10mls
Reefroids every other day
Every other day live copopods
All corals are looking very puffy and healthy the colours are really popping .
Also reduced the sump lighting by 2 hours to stabilise the Nitrate level.
Happy reefing π ππͺΈπͺΈ

started running rowa in a reactor this week to keep Phosphate down and stable.

Moved the goniopora garden to the other end of the tank due to flow now there all happy once again.
Other than that not much to report this week.

Week 8 update
Kh 8.6
Phosphate 0.05
Nitrate 0.5
Salinity 1.026
Temp 25.5
10% water change
A few new editions to the tank this week, few different corals one being a very unusual Goniopora which is black with pink tips here and there and a Mandarin that has settled really well and thriving off the micro life in the tank.
Everything is doing very well in the tank only thing once again I want to change is the Nitrate level it's been extremely difficult to keep the levels elevated but we are working on it by upping the dosage of Nitrate to 10ml a day for now to see how things go this week, I'm very impressed with this rock at how efficient it has been as even though it's a fairly new tank it has 5 fish along with being heavily feed with fish food and coral food, in past experiences using live rock the system has not been able to keep up with that sort of bio load.

Week 7
Current perimeters are
Phosphate 0.07
Nitrate 3.4 dosing 4ml of Nitrates a day
Kh 8.8 dosing 35ml a day at the moment
20L water change every Sunday
Not much to report this week everything is doing well in the tank, theres some signs of growth now which is good but the colours are now π
There getting better week by week the first coral that was added to the tank on day 2 was just a ordinary green hammer now it's turning into a absolute stunner.
The gold torches went a bit dull after a week of introducing them to the tank and are now starting to get there colours back.
I'm currently doing very little to this tank at the moment in ways of maintenance other than clean the glass every few days and a water change every Sunday other than that I feed a cube of frozen a day with reefroids and phyto every other day.

Week 6 update
Parameters are
Nitrate 5.8
Phosphate 0.07
Kh 8.6
Salinity 1.025
Temperature 25.5
Cheato light length 6hours
After battling to increase Nitrates we have started to dose nyos nitrate plus this week 6ml per day 1ml every 4 hours.
Currently sitting between 5 - 6 ppm
The micro life in the tank Is flourishing.
There were 2 corals that were not doing so well the past week 1 being a gold torch the other being a pink goniopora.
We know the parameters have been stable due to testing every day to really dial in the tank so it must be placement, we moved the gold torch slightly down and more towards the center of the tank and it is now fully extending.
Next was the pink goniopora which also did not extend for just over a week so we moved it from the bottom middle (100par) to the bottom right (80par) I have a feeling the issue was more down to the flow it was receiving as it is now fully extended.

When the kids say dad can I have a go with my microscope, yeah of course me first though π little bit of pod life in the tank.
05/05/2024
Week 5 tanks is doing surprisingly well had a look this morning before the lights come on there are so many copopods on the glass and the rocks.
All corals are looking very well and show good growth rates.
Par and spectrum has been tested (there is a potential for a par meter rental service we will be offering soon)
Only thing at the moment i would like to change is the Nitrate level it's currently at 0 so over the next week or so I will try to get this level around 5ppm.

Started dosing
Nitrate 6ppm
Kh 6.5
For the next 3 weeks we have tested for kh everyday slowly upping the dosage to 30ml per day.
Currently now at 8 dkh alkalinity
A Nitrate and phosphate Test is also done once a week.
We have also introduced a scopes tang and a black leopard wrasse both are very settled.
Nitrates are now at 0 phosphate is at 0.06 so we have scaled back the time the cheato light is on from 12hours to 10hours and have upped the food too a cube a day of frozen food.
Tanks is now 1 month old
We do 10% water change every week which is probably not necessary in my opinion but we're striving for stability so this won't change at this point.
All corals are doing extremely well if anything have more colour now than when purchased.
