Recommendation.

Had my retired dog, (who is ageing and slowing down a lot), on these tablets for the past 3 weeks. He is moving so much better and has a spring back in his step. I am very impressed.

Honestly they really aren't. It's about communication, clarity and good leadership.

Not sure everyone knows this...

There is no national regulatory body for dog trainers and behaviourists despite the fact that some groups imply that this is the case.

Anyone can set up as a dog trainer or behaviourist with no experience or qualifications.

Working as a professional Service Dog Handler and Trainer gives my clients assurances that they are receiving credible and effective training that meets their needs and the needs of their dogs.

Youtube can be a good source of information for dog training. The problem though is that dogs display behaviours for many reasons and unless we definitely know the source youtube can be damaging and pretty useless.
This is just one of many reasons 121 training for any difficulties or progression is much more productive and effective.

The Dangerous Dogs Act applies to US ALL no matter how cute and gorgeous our dogs are (like our cuty in the pic).
Dogs don't bite for no reason at all, there is always a reason. This can be through fear (and often is) through lack of training, and defending someone or something.

Under the Dangerous Dogs Act

Your dog is considered dangerously out of control if it:

1 Injures someone.
2 Makes someone worried that it might injure them.

The second is most important for anyone allowing their dog to freely run around in public areas. IF someone perceives a threat and is scared you ARE in breech of the Act and CAN be prosecuted. It is very difficult to dispute someone else's fear.

So please be a responsible handler at all times.

All too often I hear that a dog trainer has used compulsion techniques with clients pets when it just isn't necessary. Many often get an ecollar on the dogs 🤬.

Having heard some horror stories recently please understand that the dog training world is UNREGULATED.
Anyone can set up as a trainer. They can even call themselves a Dog Psychologist, a Dog Behaviourist etc etc .
Really do your homework please and make sure anyone you get to do some dog training has real life credentials.
