Rachael Amy Equestrian

Rachael Amy Equestrian Rachael has trained a variety of horses in England, Germany, Canada & Spain. Qualified to BHS Stage 4 to the goals envisaged.
(17)

Rachael always starts at the beginning with a horse to ensure that the correct foundation has been laid & makes tiny adjustments to aid communication to avoid confrontation, always giving the horse an alternative route first. She works through the levels with sensitivity until she feels she understands the horse. Rachael is a quiet, instinctive rider & will use as little or as much is needed - bea

ring in mind the horses' current experience and physical & mental fitness. She is a brave and secure rider and will wrinkle out any inconsistencies or problems the horse is having with skilled, gentle but precise handling and has a "bring it on attitude" if the horse decides to test her abilities - quietly and patiently waiting it out before confidently asking again. Her greatest skill, however, is the ability to pass on her knowledge to her clients so that they can achieve the same results as herself. Rachael is non-judgemental & will work out a programme that is correct for the horse she is helping but in line with a client's desire & ability. However, she has the directness to point out if there are any discrepancies of ability, timeline, etc. Rachael can also work totally independently if you would like your horse training for a discipline but haven't the time, desire or expertise to bring the horse to it's full potential. Rachael is qualified & insured, offering training for horse & riders on a freelance basis.

Nhala & I had a trip out to some arena eventing this weekend. Despite being a little ring rusty we did win the first class! πŸ† The second class was not as successful with three down 😬 But she did try her best & that's all I can ask for 🩡

I hadn't quite realised how much I've missed going out & having fun with my little superstar. Thank you Fiona Harrison, great lesson. Feeling ready for some arena eventing this winter πŸ©΅β„οΈ

Indoor venues & riding with another horse ticked off our list βœ… She's been awesome, taking everything in her stride at Ledston & Croft Farm πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ§‘

Bev & her young RSPCA rescue pony Louis getting out hacking. He has been a pleasure to start under saddle. I am rather slow with updates these days so since this video Bev has already ventured out to Escrick & howden, Louis took everything in his stride ❀️

Fab session for Ivimae and her young horse Zac & pony Pepper. Zac is really green with his jumping, this was his first time over a water tray & through a combination of fences, he's such a good boy. Pepper was awesome too, listening to Ivimae throughout the lesson even though her friend Zac was shouting for her ❀️

Our homebred Aurora saw a full set of show jumps for the very first time this week. This was only her second time ever being ridden in an arena & she didn't seem fazed by any of the things inside or outside of the arena πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ§‘

John's Vinnie is feeling fantastic 😍 It's been a long process strengthening him back up after his field injury that very nearly cost him his life. But he finally feels back to his former self ❀️

My five year old homebred Aurora on her second trip away from home. Apart from being a little spooky about one end of the arena she was super. I've taken her education slowly as she's quite a big girl, but I think she's now ready for some consistent work. Really looking forward to cracking on with her now πŸ€—

A trip down to Shelford Manor with Nhala for a practice run before Bramham. It wasn't actually great on paper, but I'm happy & we had fun. Dressage felt distracted & slightly tense, immediately after leaving the white boards she had a huge wee & thankfully felt back to her normal self πŸ’œ Show jumping felt great I stupidly had a fiddle in front of a fence leaving us with four faults, hopefully I'll learn my lesson πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Cross country was a blast, can you believe we were 23 seconds under the time! After spending last year getting time faults for being too slow, we've started the season with time faults for being too fast. The canter & gallop work at Lodge Farm Gallop is definitely paying off πŸ˜€ We did finish 10th place though so not all bad β€οΈπŸ‡

We finally have transport again πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ Just in time to get ready for the Bramham BE80 Championship πŸ† We celebrated with another trip out to Ellie at Sykehouse for a grid work lesson 🩷 Nhala's canter has improved so much since last year. Very much looking forward to getting her out to do some gallop work & finding our rhythm out on the cross country course β€οΈπŸ‡
