You’re Not Failing Your Puppy

If your puppy is biting more than you expected,
If they scream when you leave the room,
If they’ve had a meltdown on a walk,
If nothing you say seems to “work” yet…

You are not failing your puppy.
You’re just in the part no one warns you about.

Most people think of puppyhood as cuddles, sleepy bellies, and Instagram reels.
But the truth is, it’s intense. It’s messy. It’s full of second-guessing.
And when things feel hard, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad owner — it means you’re learning alongside a tiny creature trying to understand the world.

This is exactly what I support people with. Not just training “commands” but helping you build trust, calm, and connection even when things feel messy.

So if you’re struggling, I see you. It doesn’t stay this hard.

Today’s puppy one to one.

Lenny. Olde English Bulldog puppy. Snuffled my nose. French kissed me. Stole my shoes. Bit my toe.

And lastly, Arlo! Not a Shepherd but with the energy and social skills of one he might as well be!

We’re starting to give him more choice now he can handle his urges more, thus reducing his frustration. Bingo!

Then on to working line Shepherd Riot, focusing on his behaviour in new locations now his owners have built up their confidence with him. He’s doing so well.

Then moving on to 6 month old Caine (Pablo v2) who I was smitten with the second he lolloped up to me, jumped up and mouthed my arm. I thought, yes, this is my people. 🤣 I understand this.

I was tempted to steal him, but instead I showed his wonderful owner how best to deal with his lead frustration around dogs as he’s done such a great job on everything else. Excited to see this lad grow up and be his best self. 😍

As lovely and needed as this weather is, it's wreaking havoc with my work.

Most of my outdoor sessions will be cancelled this week from Thursday onwards for the rest of the week, but if you have any indoor training sessions booked in the future and would like to bring them forwards to this week, please get in touch to discuss.

Lottie is still awaiting a forever family to get in touch. She has been in foster for quite some time, and is more than ready to settle into a home of her own.

Lottie is currently in foster with 2 other dogs. Lottie is looking for a home where there will be another playful dog her size and someone home during the day.

Lottie is a super clever girl who learns very quickly.
