Allowing your dog to sniff when outside gives them a chance to catch up on their own version of Facebook (so to speak).

Always make sure that they don’t drag you around while they do it though. If they seem particularly interested in a steel and try to lurch over to it, keep going. Once they are walking with you again, turn around and go back. This way it’s your decision.

N.B. You may notice that they try to sniff somewhere else...!
