Welcome to Argyll Axolotls!
I've been keeping axolotls for more than 25 years. As a young girl, I watched in fascination as my German zoologist grandfather raised fire salamanders to restore the wild Black Forest population. That led to a fascination with amphibians in general and salamanders in particular.
At the moment, available eggs and juveniles come from a wild-type female (wild x melanoid) and a golden male (golden x albino). I have eggs available occasionally in the winter and raise one, maximum two small clutches of juvenile axolotls per year.
If you plan to keep axolotls, it's important to know exactly what you're doing. They do demand an investment: a large, long tank, a good filter and a chiller if you're in a warm part of the country. If you're looking for more information, feel free to post questions (or get in touch via chat). 😊
