🐶 🌟 6 Week Puppy Hydrotherapy Course 🌟 🐶
🙌🏼 Build your puppy’s confidence and socialisation! A perfect alternative to cold wet walks too!
💦 Hydrotherapy is an excellent form of exercise for young dogs and helps to build confidence in a new environment. The non-weight bearing exercise is a safe way to burn off all that excess puppy energy without the risk of damaging developing bones and joints. In addition, the mental stimulation of a new situation provides an ideal socialisation opportunity and exposes your puppy to water in a completely safe environment.
🐶 We are happy to see puppies from the age of 5 months up to 10 months, they must be fully vaccinated.
✅ Following completion of your 6 week course, you can continue your puppy’s hydrotherapy development by undertaking our fun and fitness sessions as frequently as you like.
📝 You will require a signed consent form from your vet and your puppy must have no medical concerns. We can email your vet directly just get in touch.

Can cold water swimming be detrimental to your dog's rehabilitation? 💦
The short answer is yes it can be!
So many dogs love a dip in the canal, sea, lake, but at this time of the year, the temperature will still be below 12 degrees 🥶. This can negatively impact your dog’s rehabilitation.
When the body goes into cold water, the blood vessels constrict and the heart beats faster 💗; this increases blood pressure but blood flow slows. Without the required oxygen the muscles fatigue and swimming becomes increasingly difficult.
The lack of oxygen also hampers recovery and increases risk of further injury.
In a hydrotherapy session the water is heated between 28-32 degrees Celsius 🌡️
The warmth of the water opens the blood vessels, increasing oxygen circulation, slowing fatigue as well as aiding the muscle recovery process.
The warm water also helps reduce inflammation around the joint, helping it to move more freely and decreasing pain.
In addition, at a hydrotherapy centre your four-legged friend is being monitored for signs of fatigue and resting them between sets, to get the most out of the session.
Hydrotherapy helps accelerate the recovery process and return your dog to full function. Swimming in cold water can slow this down or even set it back.
