Cracking first session with the fabulous Ralph he’s already done some training so had he was already on it, placeboard work, follow heel, bringing movement on his sit stay and introducing him to stop whistle smashed it all 👊🏻👊🏻

Meet the new team Member Nobby aka Twatterdale the Patterdale he’s more my others half dog but he will be with me most of the time and will be still think he’s a Gundog. We always have terriers as well as spaniels can’t beat them you know where you stand with a terrier 🤣 plus they good spaniels wranglers 🤣 Sid is Chief baby sitter, Jimmy is like Wtf is that 🤣 Tillie oh another dog I’m the boss mate just to let you know my rules 🤣🤣🤣

Epic epic epic session with Gino 👊🏻👊🏻 Gino can struggle in some environments especially when there game about or things to chase so we have been working on him taking it all and then disengaging and choosing to have fun with his owner today he smashed it in a challenging environment we did engagement games, marks into cover and hunting he loved it and smashed it well done Mr Dicampo ❤️❤️

Epic first Day with Co host and Guest Trainer Dave Connell for the spaniel weekend !! Double pair Hunting in the morning then afternoon working on the retrieves lines, stops, hot spots blinds just we had a blast everyone smashed it !!!

CONSIDER REWARD AS AN HOLISTIC EXPERIENCE

It involves two partners and one partner should not find the experience of lesser value; it should be equally anticipated and pleasing to both.

Much attention is given to the content of the food and little to the way this is delivered: great food that stimulates appetite can be dumped in an indifferent, fast-food manner or presented with genuine pleasure. Reward is a direct reflection of effort and it deserves equal effort in the delivery of that feedback.

You done good.

Very average food can be elevated through the delivery process: a treat to chase, to capture, a drawn out anticipation that increases the mutual value.

There is a bias for the person to use their reward of choice for the dog which may not be rewarding for the dog or complementary to the behaviour.

Tug-play is very popular and regularly promoted as a reward. Some find it uncomfortable; perhaps the tugging causes back pain or sore hands, or they feel their dog is too strong or over aroused when biting. The reverse can also true where the person gets over excited and really enjoys tug-play and bounces the dog too violently. In this case the reward function becomes void.

Conflict can arise from the anticipation of the expected reward which is in direct opposition to the effect, or emotional state, you are trying to achieve in the learning: over arousal of any sort does not encourage thoughtful learning.

Some types of play can induce specific predatory responses such as stalking which stimulates slow movement with stealth; this may be at odds with the training agenda that is looking for perky, animated responses.

There needs synchronicity between the prime function of rewarding the dog for their effort that ALSO complements the learning and ensures the person enjoys the process as well.
