It’s World Animal Remembrance Month in September. 😇
As the name says, it is a special time to remember all the animals who have touched our lives but are no longer with us. When pets go over the Rainbow Bridge, it can cause really strong grief, and we recognize that during this month. Everyone who has lost a pet either recently or many years ago are in our thoughts this month 🐰🐶🐱🐭👼

Our cover star for this month is Dennis the Menace! He looks SUPER smart in his harness and is such a handsome boy 🥰

Meet Minstrel, a mini lion lop rabbit that came to stay with us for the day to be castrated. Minstrels procedure went extremely well and he was very quick at recovering, meaning it wasn't long before he was having cuddles and being syringe fed. We loved having Minstrel with us for the day, he was a very good boy and a credit to is lovely owner 🐰✨
Today is National Primate Day! 🐒🍌
Primates, ranging from the tiniest lemurs to the majestic gorillas, play a pivotal role in our ecosystems and have deep ties with human evolutionary history. Yet, they are among the most endangered groups of animals on Earth. 🐵
Our vets have lots of involvement with primates on their zoo visits doing surgery and health checks to make sure our primate friends are in tip top condition. Here are some amazing photos our vet Katie has taken on her recent zoo trips. 🐒

Meet Bert the sugar glider! Bert came to see us a little over a month ago for a dental to help him eat a little bit better. Bert was very well behaved and was a star for all of his procedures including x-rays and dental burring. We are pleased to say that Bert is doing real well post operatively 💖

Meet Midnight and Nova 🎆
These two cuties came to see our vet Katie to get their vaccinations and get microchipped so they’re both compliant with the new law surrounding cat microchipping 🐈
These two were very well behaved and enjoyed lots of cuddles off our PCA Hannah ❤️
Unlike us, pets have no understanding that hot weather can beharmful. We control their environment, their access to water and their exercise, and they can’t speak up if they start feeling unwell. 🐱🐶🐾☀
Heat stroke can rapidly progress and, even with veterinary treatment, is often fatal. 😔

Puppy Club! 🐶🐾
We see so many cute puppies everyday for their vaccinations and general health checks and always make sure to make a big fuss and give lots of treats so they see coming to the vets as a positive experience rather than one to dread and be scared off. 🐾
This gorgeous little girl is Bette and it is safe to say she got lots of cuddles and treats, who could say no to that little face 🩷

Meet Njord, the little baby Netherland dwarf. Njord came to see our vet Jack a few weeks ago to get neutered and also to have his teeth looked at. 👨⚕️
The following pictures give you all a little insight into what it is like when we have a rabbit inpatient, from using a scope to ensure correct intubation to getting a catheter into the most tiniest ears in the world, to seeing how our nurses monitor an anesthetic. 💉

It’s been 3 weeks since this little cockatiel has been brought into us and unfortunately we were unable to find his owners 🥺 on the bright side he now has a new family with our PCA, Rachelle and her family and is settling in brilliantly, meet Tony, he’s even put on some weight and stared to whistle 🐥

Deafness is rising in the UK; by 2035, it is estimated that one in five British people (over 15 million) will experience hearing loss.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity that trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds like the smoke alarm, alarm clock and even a baby’s cry.
Their burgundy coats also act as a visual reminder to the public when they are out and about that their partner is deaf. Donations raised through Pennies when you pay
