Order placed! Biggest order yet!

My next treat order will probably be my only one before Christmas. Looking to place an order over the next couple of weeks so if you are wanting anything let me know asap. Can order specific bulk items or some individual things like antlers, cow hooves, buffalo horns and as always I can make up mixed boxes and will try to get the much loved sausages!

Balls and dogs… 🥎

Recently at a wedding someone was asking me for some advice for their dog after his recent surgery. He had fractured a bone in his forelimb and they said “it happened chasing a ball, if we had known it wasn’t a good thing to do we wouldn’t have done it”.

We hear this so often; everyone we see loves their dog and wants the best for them, but ball throwing and dogs have become synonymous in people’s minds and there is a strong culture for it - it looks so fun, it tires them out quickly and we think it is keeping them fit.

But what is actually happening?

Repeatedly stimulating their prey drive keeps them wired and overstimulated.
Motivated to carry on chasing, they work way past muscle fatigue, and high adrenaline means they won’t be aware of pain at the time.

What is chasing?

Fast uncontrolled acceleration and deceleration; twisting and turning without thinking about their bodies.

What happens to humans who do this in sport in a much more controlled way?

ACL injuries, Achilles ruptures, fractures… no surprise then that this is similar to what we see in our canine clinic.
Help us to help your dogs and spread the word.

We will be following this up with some ideas of fun ball related activities for your dog which aren’t repetitive chasing 🙌

Enzo “helping” pack orders 🤭

This is what I get when I let Enzo offlead 🤦🏻‍♀️ I am surrounded by happy dogs then think where’s my dog, oh there he is just stood at the other side of the field.

Everyone was happy to see Jess back for an adhoc walk 😁🐾

I know other people are wanting summer to arrive but we are happy with these temps so we can get out walking. My favourite weather sunny but not too hot 🙂🐾

Friday 😃 glad it’s the weekend! After managing to dodge any winter colds, this week I have come down with a horrible cold and it’s been tough going but finally the weekend.

Just as we were finishing their walk Groot found a lovely mud puddle 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Not good news about the van so an Enzo to lighten the mood. The garage did not fix it and called at 5.30pm to say this and inform us that it was in pieces so we couldn’t even collect it. Mechanic had gone home and not given them any info other than won’t be done today. I’m sure you can understand how annoyed I am. Absolutely appalling service. For tomorrow family are kindly loaning me their car but walks will be altered to walks from home for most. Everything crossed I get van back tomorrow for Thursdays groups 🤞🏼
