Evening all!

Just to clarify, because I have no idea where this person got the idea from: I do not breed or 'sell pet rats', I never have, and I never will! There are some absolutely fantastic breeders in the South West, but I'm definitely not one of them. There are also some very dodgy breeders in the South West and all over the country...please don't fall into their unethical traps!

Having said that, absolutely any rats from any background are welcome here (unless they want to eat me. That's not ideal.). I have a lot of experience with difficult rats, rescues, nervous rats, poorly rats, you name it!

Happy New Year everyone! Thank you to everyone who came to stay with us this year, I've said it before and I'll say it again: You and your kiddos are really brilliant, and I've had a lot of fun!

The photo is of my boys Alex and Hurricane; a visual representation of how my Christmas break has been. And it was well needed!

I'm fully booked for February half term, but do give me a shout if you need a place for your little ones (of the rat variety...😂) to stay when you're away next year, or any drop ins you might need :)

I knooooooow I shouldn't be saying the 'C' word just yet, but when you need pet boarding or drop ins, you need to plan well in advance! I'm taking Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing day off, along with New Year's Eve and New Year's Day off. I'm also on holiday for a week in early December and early January, but get in NOW if you need me over the festive season!

These absolutely wonderful return guests definitely enjoyed their playtime this evening!

All included with the entertainment package*, of course.

*Which is included in the daily rate. I'm basically just another climbing frame for them and I get loads of cuddles. Win win, to be honest.

What does your day to day look like with rats? This is mine. Generally being whacked in the face with a tail (courtesy of Hudson, on this occasion).

Little Delilah here has to have eye drops twice a day, and she's been an absolute superstar. She has her drops then snuggles up. It's a big thing for a little one to allow a random human to be really invasive, and I'm really proud of her ❤️

I have the lovely Delilah, Abbie, and Ziva staying with me this week while their humans go off for a well-deserved holiday! I always forget how wriggly girls are....

I met their humans half way to help out with journey times - a reminder that I'm fully insured for animal transport too :)

I'm taking a week of holiday myself in December and again in May, but I have lots of availability either side if you fancy a last minute escape away from this horrrrrrrreeeeeennnnnndous weather we're having!

Hi everyone!

Just a quick note. A lot of people recently have been asking for discounts on my services. I consider the service I offer to be reasonably priced. Yes, if you're going away for a week and require your pets to be in my home for a cost of £15 a day, it does add up and seems like a scary number, but I'm happy to spread the cost over the months beforehand. Your pets are getting essentially 24/7 monitoring, health checks, exercise, care, and clean bedding, substrate, and litter trays for that cost.

You don't walk into your favourite fast food chain and ask for a discount, even though you know it's massively marked up, do you? So why ask a small business who is making far less than minimum wage per day of giving your furry loved ones excellent care for a discount? The national minimum wage here in the UK is £11.44 per hour; I'm charging you £15 per day. I'm charging you £0.625 or 62.5 pence per hour of looking after your pets. Please don't ask me for discount.

I work from home and your kiddos are in a big cage in my living room, not shoved away behind closed doors.

Please respect the people who are here for your animals. We love them like they are our own ❤️

Large Aventura cage with a 16" wheel for groups, smaller Furat cage if preferred for 2-3 rats or OAPs, I'm fully insured for drop ins, sitting, boarding and transporting, along with dog walking and pet sitting in their own home.

August is fairly booked up for boarding at the moment, but I still have availability for drop ins if needed :)

Also, if I have provided these services for you, I'd be really grateful for a review if you could please!

We love our vets and they're wonderful, but this is such an awesome new option that I had to share with you all! Direct, rat-specific knowledge without having to travel anywhere or filter out the nonsense from (some) rat groups / Google etc. It's always great to have options when you own animals, and this may just be a godsend for rat parents! Plus, it's always great to have a reliable second opinion or discuss something if you're not sure.

Calling all rat parents!

Finding the right vet for our rats is difficult - they're either miles away, or are specialists and require a referral in a very difficult financial time. I was lucky enough to have a fantastic vet very close by before I graduated, and want to be able to help other rat parents the way she did me.

I'm not a registered specialist in Exotics but work very hard to improve my knowledge all the time. I've also learned a lot from my incredible clients!

The main downside of this platform is that I can't legally prescribe any medications due to the regulations set by the RCVS. However, I can give advice on dosing and timings of medications you already have, recommend over the counter medications at the correct dose and frequency, and give plenty of advice and reassurance for any concerns you may have.

I'm also happy to share information and recommendations with your local vet if they are less rat savvy, so they can provide you the best quality of care too.
