There's not much I love more than a little lady who has her routine, and it doesn't matter where that routine happens because she trusts humans so much. Here's boarder Mabel who is here with her sisters for a week; she's an absolute superstar with her mushy food routine in her adorable strawberry house ❤️ Mabel is one of The Rat Nanny's kiddos who are here on their holidays, what an honour for me!

Intros....they're really boring when the lads all behave/don't give a stuff about each other. I miss having rescues when intros were exciting 😂

That's not to say I want a massive brawl to occur. But y'know, would be great if they at least showed some interest in the babies 🤦🏻‍♀️ And yes, Womble and Hurricane have turned their backs on me in disgust at the whole situation.

Easter holidays 🐣🐇

I know half term has just about finished, but April isn't very far away! If you're hopping off on holiday and need an eggciting place for your fur-kiddos to spend their holidays, ping me a message 🐀

Just a reminder, cages come fully furnished and prices are per group, per day. You just bring your rats and provide all their food and any medications :) Cage options:

Aventura with 16" wheel - £15 per day
Coco Large - £10 per day
Furat (up to four rats only!) - £8 per day

Local drop-ins for any animal start from £5 per visit.

And, yes, that's definitely an Easter bonnet Marley is sporting. Definitely.

Teamwork makes the dream work! And it's true, I love to travel and I always want my boys to be in the best hotel! This list will grow but it's worth knowing ❤️

❗️New section added ❗️

As we now have a few Rat boarders added to The Rat Wiki I've decided to create them their very own page.

The New "Rat Boarding" section will hopefully soon be the best place to go to look for great, trustworthy places you can leave your Rats with peace of mind while you go on holiday or need to be away and want them looking after.

I feel that the 4 boarders we already have featured are a great starting point and really set a good standard for anyone else who comes along to join.

I've entered various lads in maybe four or five shows now. I'm always a bit apprehensive, I don't love leaving them in tanks on their own for a few hours but the reality is....they just go for a snooze and they're fine about it 😂

I'm still learning the technicalities of showing and honestly, give me ten years and I might have some sort of fundamental knowledge but for now I'm still being the, "What does that mean?" person. And y'know what? Someone will answer those questions!

And the important part here is....ASK THOSE QUESTIONS. I entered four of my lads in both their varieties and pet classes yesterday. There was little or no competition in their varieties/age so they all came home with two 1st, 2nd, or 3rd certs each. I'm utterly ecstatic and so proud of them, but I didn't have anything to do with how they looked when they were born. What means the world to me is beautiful comments from the pet judges ❤️ Those are the things we as owners have an influence on. Their confidence, their condition, their willingness to interact...that's why getting feedback is important to me!

If ever you want to enter your kiddos in a show, I really encourage it! Ask me questions, if I can't answer, I'll see if someone else knows the answer. Come along to shows; I'm still learning but I'll help, and if I can't help, I promise there are lots of very approachable people there who can!

I've got these lovely lads staying with me too this week ❤️ They were a little apprehensive about the hall for playtime (it's a big space with lots of new sniffs, it's understandable!), so I brought them for some sofa sniffs and runaround. We'll try the hall again tomorrow!

I got two new babies this week! One thing I always regret is not getting photos of myself with the kiddos when they're babies, and Atlas here is just an absolute photogenic diamond so I couldn't not take advantage of that 😂

I have two sets of boarders coming for half term, plus my babies, plus my gents, so I'm going to be flat out for the next little while and I genuinely couldn't be happier! Honestly, what's better than a house full of (fancy) rats?

Evening all!

Just to clarify, because I have no idea where this person got the idea from: I do not breed or 'sell pet rats', I never have, and I never will! There are some absolutely fantastic breeders in the South West, but I'm definitely not one of them. There are also some very dodgy breeders in the South West and all over the country...please don't fall into their unethical traps!

Having said that, absolutely any rats from any background are welcome here (unless they want to eat me. That's not ideal.). I have a lot of experience with difficult rats, rescues, nervous rats, poorly rats, you name it!

Happy New Year everyone! Thank you to everyone who came to stay with us this year, I've said it before and I'll say it again: You and your kiddos are really brilliant, and I've had a lot of fun!

The photo is of my boys Alex and Hurricane; a visual representation of how my Christmas break has been. And it was well needed!

I'm fully booked for February half term, but do give me a shout if you need a place for your little ones (of the rat variety...😂) to stay when you're away next year, or any drop ins you might need :)

I knooooooow I shouldn't be saying the 'C' word just yet, but when you need pet boarding or drop ins, you need to plan well in advance! I'm taking Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing day off, along with New Year's Eve and New Year's Day off. I'm also on holiday for a week in early December and early January, but get in NOW if you need me over the festive season!

These absolutely wonderful return guests definitely enjoyed their playtime this evening!

All included with the entertainment package*, of course.

*Which is included in the daily rate. I'm basically just another climbing frame for them and I get loads of cuddles. Win win, to be honest.
