Our Pets Centre has supported the Rushton Dog Rescue centre for a few years now, this small and awesome team of dog lovers has recues thousands of dogs, every attempt is made to home as many dogs as possible, saving them from a life of misery. Spread the spirit of giving this Christmas and jingle the bells of charity with these gorgeous Christmas Bells. £2 from each bell sold will go to Rushton Dog Rescue at Freedom Farm - Darkness To Light !!

This Morning's Creepy Critter Event was fantastic! Our fabulous pets team got to talk about some incredible pets, including some of their own! From stick insects and spiders to giant African Land snails to ant farms, our bug world has some really unusual and fascinating creatures. We hope to run more creepy critter events in the future, as our half term ones are all fully booked!

Spooky Critters and Creepy Crawlies!
Join us for an informative and FUN! meet and greet. Where you and your child will be introduced to our very own Tarantulas and snakes, you’ll also get to meet some slippery, slimy African Land Snails and our knowledgeable Pet Team will be on hand to answer all of your Creepy Crawly related questions. Each ticket includes a free Indian Stick insect egg and care sheet.

Book Now to avoid disappointment!! Spaces for these sessions are limited and we ask that each child be accompanied by no more than one adult as the location where our Creepy Crawly Event will be held has very limited space, as such we would like to ensure each child has the space required to interact with both our knowledgeable staff and our CREEPY CRAWLY friends.

Our chosen pet charity for this year is Rushton dog rescue, a dog sanctuary and rehoming centre based in Somerset, that was founded in 2007 by Cindi McNeil Regan in memory of her soul mate Timothy Rushton.
They have sent out an appeal for donations of dry dog food, as they currently have a lot of dogs in their care! Please can we request that you drop off any donations with the team at our Pet Centre for Rushton to collect.

Monkton Elm Pet Centre prides itself itself on bringing a high standard of pet knowledge and care advice to our customers. Animal welfare is our first priority and as such we were so grateful to be thanked and acknowledged for our new small animal policy in store!

Our policy:
With rescue centres being overwhelmed with small animals, we have taken the difficult decision not to be a contributing factor to the ever growing number of small animals being surrendered.
We will therefore not be selling small animals at our Pet centre for the foreseeable future.
We are very happy to advocate and recommend quality rescue centres, where there is an abundance of small animals looking for loving homes! We will continue to stock a wide range of small animal products.

FIRST AID FOR DOGS, BOOKINGS NOW OPEN

Join us on Saturday 11th March where we’re offering you the chance to learn the necessary skills required to administer first aid for your furry friend. Including CPR skills taught to the RECOVER 2012 guidelines.

The course will be taught by a qualified Veterinary Nurse who routinely works with members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and complies with the Veterinary Surgeons act 1966 and Animal Welfare 2006. Graduates will receive a certificate of attendance which is valid for 3 years. This is awarded based on the graduates full understanding of the course content which is assessed throughout the day.

The course will run from approximately 10:00am – 4:30pm and will include a light lunch and refreshments (please make note of any dietary requirements in the “order notes” section).

We’re thinking of doing a certified dog first aid course. It would be Saturday 11th March and the course will run for around 6 hours to fit all modules in. Tickets would be £45 and will include lunch and refreshments. What are your thoughts?
