My name is Carly and I have had dogs as part of my family most of my life. I have also owned cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds and chipmun

ks so have experience in looking after all shapes and sizes. I have a Bichon Frise called Bertie (he is the reigning Pet Factor Champion through the local Gazette!). He is very sociable and likes nothing more than meeting new friends. We do agility training once a week we which both really enjoy. In my spare time I volunteer as a home visitor with the RSPCA.

BEWARE!!! ROCK SALT

With the expected cold blast due for most of us, rock salt will be added to grit and used on many roads and paths. Rock salt is toxic for dogs!

Check and wipe off paws after every walk as rock salt can cause burns to paws, mouth and throat.

If a dog eats rock salt, it can lead to a high blood sodium concentration, which can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, thirst, and in severe cases, kidney damage and convulsions.

Always consult your vet if you are worried about any aspect of your dog's health.
