“But they’re only little!” — Why Puppies Sometimes Need a Lift
We often get asked: “Do you really need a wagon for a puppy?”
And the answer is — sometimes, yes!
Puppies’ joints and growth plates are still developing, especially in larger breeds. Too much walking (even if they look full of beans) can cause long-term problems. Vets often recommend:
• 5 minutes of exercise per month of age, twice a day
• Avoiding long walks, especially on hard surfaces
• Minimising stairs, jumping, and overexertion
But that doesn’t mean they have to miss out.
Socialisation is key in those early weeks — helping pups get used to people, other dogs, traffic, and the world around them. A wagon means they can safely come along for the ride, soak it all in, and build confidence — without overdoing it physically.
It’s also a game-changer if you’ve got more than one dog. You can still take your older or more active dog out for a proper walk, without leaving the puppy behind or worrying that you’re doing too much too soon.
Not sure if you’ll need it long-term? We offer flexible rental options, or you can buy — and InnoPet wagons hold their value really well. Many customers resell theirs later, or keep it for future use (they’re especially handy after surgery or in older age).
