Just Breath
It is important these days that we have time for our minds, so this bank holiday weekend go outside and enjoy nature, it is there for us all. I took a 3 mile walk recently and this video shows you just a fraction of what a saw. After the walk I felt refreshed and my mind was calm. Enjoy life’s offerings
How are your Hedgehogs?
Just a few facts and reminders about our British wild Hedgehogs …
1) Hedgehogs are Lactose intolerant so putting milk out for them is not a great idea unless it is lactose free
2) It is unusual to see Hedgehogs during the day as they don’t really like the heat so keep an eye out for them just as the sun sets and the day cools down.
3) Hedgehogs may look cute but they give the insect world a hard time eating worms, slugs, earwigs, beetles and other small insects. They sometimes are known to eat baby birds, small snakes and frogs, so they are a fierce predator.
4) Their eyesight is poor their hearing and sense of smell make up for that
5) They are speedy little things running up to 5mph which is amazing for such a small mammal, they are also great climbers
6) Unfortunately Hedgehog numbers are in decline so please do your bit for conservation and help the Hedgehogs if you can
We sell a good range of foods for hedgehogs at Ron’s Pets and we hope to be able to help and encourage you guys to feed and look after these wonderful little creatures. We have some free samples to give away to get you started, just pop by and ask one of our members of staff. ❤️

Spotting Kestrels hovering over the sand dunes
Fun Kestrel Facts
Kestrels will hover keeping perfectly still in the air before diving down to catch its Prey.
With extremely sharp eyesight, kestrels can spot a beetle from 50 metres away. They can even see ultraviolet light, which is invisible to the human eye. This means they can detect the urine trails left by rodents on the ground, helping the birds locate their prey.

Look at these amazing Amazon Milk Frogs, they are so tiny right now but will grow up to 4 inches (app 10cms) these make fascinating little pets. Funnily enough they don’t drink milk or feed their froglets milk…. So I hear you say “why are they called milk frogs then?” Well it gets its name comes from its natural défense system which is to secrete a milk like fluid that looks like milk through its skin to keep predators away.
Why not come and see them and we will happily answer all your questions and tell you how to look after them in your home
These African Land Snails are pretty cute you have to admit… available to buy in store
