Introducing our honourary member of the clinical team - Boo!👻

Boo is never shy of helping around the practice, including bringing smiles to colleagues faces! Her mum is a vet as Westmoor so has also picked up some clinical training here and there. Despite this, she isn't tall enough to reach the consult tables/operating tables, so for know she just has a supporting role from an office upstairs.
We think Boo is a beautiful girl and we love having her around ❤

Thank you to Vet Katelin for the photos! We love a dress up moment 😍🐾

Have you seen our lovely christmas tree yet?
Our brilliant staff had a crafting afternoon to make all the wonderful decorations with a range of techniques from felting to knitting!

This was put on display recently at the Tavistock christmas tree festival but has now returned to us 🎄

This tree displays all of the wonderful wildlife species we have helped here at Westmoor and the numbers of each species seen since June! Including 1 peacock, 5 mice, 2 deer and 110 hedgehogs! We are dedicated to helping all our wildlife friends and aim to continue to do our best to help them in the future 🥰 🦔🦇🐀

Unfortunately, some things around the house can pose more risk than others, check out our list of pet festive risks around the house below. 👇

🌟Westmoor's Braveheart for November 🌟

Paddy has a much bigger younger brother, and although they are totally in love Paddy doesn't always realise he is quite a lot older, and quite a lot smaller than his younger brother!

On one such occasion, their rough and tumble play led to a trip to the vets for poor Paddy, as he wasn't wanting to put any weight on his front leg. Paddy is very stoic, but was sensitive when he was touched on the metacarpal bones of the foot (the equivalent to the long bones in your hand) so the team here at Westmoor decided that it was best for Paddy to have an x-ray.

The x-ray showed that he had broken one of the bones in his foot! Luckily the other three similar bones that sit closely were all still in tact, so Paddy was able to avoid surgery and spent a week with a very large dressing (called a Robert Jones Bandage) on his foot to help stabilise it. He is currently on strict 'no play' instructions, bed (crate) rest and signed off work (professional playmate) for 4-6 weeks.

Paddy, we wish you a speedy recovery and hope you're back up and bouncing soon!❤
