Ingleby Bird Lady

SInce covid the uptake of injured birds and fledglings has seen a phenominal increase, more so due to the vets not accepting them and our local vets no longer caring for sick injured birds. It takes a lot of effort and time to help birds recover to then be released back to the wilds. I have my own unique way of caring, birds trust and seem to understand they are in good hands. All need to feel lov

ed, have warmth and security, we aim not to have the birds imprinted, in some instances they do but work hard to reinstate them via slow release. Please think before removing a baby bird from its parents, the fledgling stage is an important learning stage for the birds, only remove if the bird is in danger, try lifting to higher ground etc, or safe shelter. Please also do not keep with a view to let children play with them, they are not pets, the sooner the birds receive help the better chance of a full recoverry. If a bird has a broken wing or injured please seek vets care asap.

We currently have a family situation to deal with and our daughters long awaited wedding too. Please can any birds in need of help be diverted currently to Likes of Hope Animal Shelter Loftus Hartlepool or Whitby wildlife during this time. Unless you have specifically spoken to me please do not leave birds in need of urgent care at my door, as you all know I work 24 hours to help the birds but currently time is needed at home whilst we get through this time and start to look forward to the wedding day. In absolute extreme circumstances only may I be able to help. All mentioned above are on Facebook or can be taken to each location thank you all kindly. It has been an incredibly very early start with the amount of intakes currently, a good few releases today but as they leave and so the journey starts all over again. Thank you for your understanding .

Thank you to all who are supporting Jess and Sam through the most difficult of days given baby Albie’s brain tumour diagnosis. The brain tumour is incredibly rare, already 6cm in size, for a baby just turned one years this is so difficult. Albie has a full neurological team arriving ready for a lengthy operation this Thursday coming, mum Jess and Sam are remaining with Albiie abd are on the waiting list for a room close by. Your help is going to ensure they can focus on the weeks ahead without too much financial constraints given rents bills and the added difficulties this tragic news brings. It is so heartwarming of all to help and know Jess and Sam will be so grateful. Albie is an absolute delight, he has the most amazing parents, please keep sharing and supporting his cause through a journey none of us want to see any of our children endure. From Jess Sam , baby Albie and family, thank you xx

This is incredibly hard, words cannot describe what we are all feeling. Your days seem laboured, COVID brought financial constraints, you crawl though all the rain like many look forward to the open space then along comes a bolt so hard hitting!!!

Many know me I can help and ask for help for many but you will never know my own pain, I battle through the many rescues feed all and recoup back to the wilds, even then do I rarely ask for help.

PLEASE can you help support Jess and Sam though the most difficult of times, Baby Albie just through his first birthday, a bout of illness has brought the most crushing of outcomes, a diagnosis of a very rare brain tumour 6cm in size. We need to see Jess and Sam helped financially through these times whilst they remain with Albie. Words cannot describe how we all feel, some will know Jess, Beth, Henry, Oliver and their mum Heather who was the cook at Whinstone Primary . Little things mean a lot. If you can give a little please do. If I ask for anything be it this . We all love Albie so much, just trying to remove any other concerns this news brings at a time when we are all struggling financially to survive, imagine this thrown in too. Please share if you can and read Jess statement in her own words.

Patience update, shining star she very much is, loved back to health and the wilds is calling, splint removed from her broken leg, able to stand fully, just need a bit more healing time Sue Francis

Took this little one in earlier it has a nasty dose of canker in its mouth, no wonder it is thin, really is quite nasty, takes the lives of many pigeons for sure, well done Jenny on his rescue

19/09/2020

Good morning from the warmth of the Coup, fed and duly flourishing along side Patiene.

16/09/2020

Patience, one truly amazing Pigeon, my patience was tested for sure having received a rather assuming, incredibly rude private message from a person who should know better. No one should presume let alone shoot people down in flames, beggars belief really given posted endless videos of birds cared for and released back to wilds. However, Patience is incredibly grateful no doubt, certainly becoming flighty.

16/09/2020

Making his social media debut, baby pigeons progressing nicely, loves cuddles, warmth and naturally loved.
Took delivery of a very large donated cage today, over the moon with it. In the meantime someone is milking pre bed time hugs

16/09/2020

Gillermot and House Martin, good morning all, Mr Gillermot already on route to Whitby Wild life Sanctuary, Charlie the tiny House Martin is remaining with me for intensive one to one, no eyes open yet so incredibly young and fragile place to be without mum currently, however he took his feeds well, off shopping for live insects and other feeds. Patience is still thriving x Kristian Francis Sue Francis

Had this baby ring collar dove dropped off earlier, in a very sorry state with itself, both eyes closed and a good deal of blood collection in both, one had infection too, currently fed, loved and resting. He may we’ll have flown into an object not sure but hoping for a good outcome Kristian Francis Sue Francis, well done to Jonathan and the lady who dropped him to me from Great Ayton

What is that saying? A helping hand to one person may not change the world but it may mean the world to one person! In this case our little One Eye Joe is feeling super this morning, just look at that eye, OPEN, over the moon Pauline Bailes your prays were answered

07/09/2020

Meet Jeffery, broken wing possibly cat attack really is a nasty injury, got him sorted out, wing wrapped and cleaned, then comes a knock on the door a lovely delivery of medical supplies followed via another knock on the wrong door only this time it startled Jeffery and he caught my lip, looked like something from a horror movie a rook in my arms and a pouring with blood lip injury, so fruits of the loom it’s off to hospital I have to go, can’t be helped, he is very calm, understandably his attack scared him, pay back is ripe too as I cleaned his wounds with iodine, my own lip too, talk about hit the ceiling , see how calm he is in next video to follow Jodie O'Toole well done Jodie on his rescue xx

07/09/2020

Just had a lovely drop off and visit via Pauline Bailes The Gentle Dog to bring me our latest recruit and I think he may be a keeper, meet One Eye Joe from Mexico, one eye closed tight due to a build up of puss under eye socket into under beak, managed to relieve some of the contents, will try again later, has settled well and enjoying his live mealworms, tail is a tad loose too possibly broken, little bit of antibiotic and hope to enable eye to open soon, cannot fly to any great height bless it. In for a forever home with this one I think and why not. Adding another love of my life into our family

Thank you to those people who rallied round and helped with antibiotics prior they make a difference. These two, the grey one in particular was on its way out, knocking in chest, breathing sounds not good, both are very thin, Blackie is a racing tumbler, possibly worn out . However sat up with Betty our silver pigeon last night giving three doses spaced out prior to going to bed, sat until 1am to allow for final dose till morning, all wrapped in an insulated blanket and placed in a lovely warm cage. I was not sure what to expect this morning but this is the returns. Not out of woods yet, very, very underweight, needs good nourishment and vitamins and a couple of days on antibiotics to keep down what ever is making her Ill. Blackie has an injury underside from cat we believe but both doing good. Our little Blackbird has been placed into a nest in our garden under our watch to see if accepted. It’s a beautiful day.
