Safety first!

Trimming is integral to equine welfare.
In the UK a farriery apprentice trains for 4 years, studying all aspects of hoofcare including caring for the unshod foot.
As part of their final exams, farriery apprentices need to demonstrate both practical skill, knowledge and behaviours trimming the equine foot.
Your farrier will be able to advise whether your horse or pony needs to be shod – the answer will depend on the individual equine and will include factors such as work, environment, management and current hoof health.

COVID-19 update:

To all of my customers,

As a Farrier, I have a duty of care to ensure the continued welfare and comfort of the horse. As the care of your horses hooves needs to be maintained, I will be continuing to work.

I would, however, ask the following:

• Please be mindful of social distancing and keep 2m apart from me at all times to ensure your safety and mine (and that of our families)
• Please ensure that the horses hooves are clean and dry
• If you are paying by cash, I will have a sealed plastic tub within which money can be placed. I will be carrying a disinfectant spray in order to wipe down in between customers. Alternatively BACS payments can be arranged.
• If you have any symptoms, please arrange for someone else to be present in your place, or contact me in good time to rearrange your appointment.

During these continued times of uncertainty, it is important that we all follow Government guidance.

Should the situation change, I will post an update via this page and contact all bookings affected.

If anyone has any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me 07773 324011.

Please share this message to reach as many people as possible.

Thank you for your continued support.
Ross

Following yesterday evening’s announcement by The Prime Minister of further restrictions to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, the FRC engaged with Government to seek agreement that the work of farriers be allowed to continue.

🤧🤧ATTENTION TO ALL CLIENTS🤧🤧

With the current equine flu crisis, please be honest with me if you suspect any of your horses, or other horses on the yard are showing signs of illness.
It is no problem to cancel your appointment and i will prioritise your rebooking.
Would like to reduce the risk of spreading the infection.
Thank you
