Has anyone ever had acupuncture? ๐
Below is a short clip of the lovely Rocco receiving his acupuncture treatment from our vet Eva. He has been having treatment for a number of weeks now for his back pain (alongside longstanding medical treatment too) and his owner reports that he is much happier and able to run upstairs again!
Acupuncture involves inserting needles in to particular points or around sore trigger points in muscles to try to increase blood flow to the area and stimulate the body's own healing. As you can see, dogs tolerate it really well and often don't feel the needles being inserted at all.
It can be really useful for chronic pain conditions such as arthritis but also for more acute problems like soft tissue inflammation, spinal pain and even lick granuloma.
If you think this may benefit your pet and would like more information on acupuncture, please give our reception team a call ๐
This gorgeous girl is Nala. Nala was a bit nervous of coming in to the vets at first and wasn't keen on us getting too close to her.
After a few desensitisation sessions with our VCA Gemma (plus lots of squeezy cheese) she is now happy to come to see us and for our vet Eva to give her a full health check and her vaccines.
If you feel your dog would benefit from some of these sessions to help them feel a bit braver at the vets, please get in touch โค๏ธ
