'Love the new D-series clipper, they are great on small dogs. I find it hard to change the blades over but that's just me as my husband has no problem changing the blades. Love it'-Julie P.

Sounds like these clippers are hitting the spot for the little pups. Easy to handle, gets the job done - what's not to like?

Now, changing blades might take a bit of getting used to for some of us. But hey, that's what practice is for, right? And if all else fails, rope in a helping hand.

When I began my career there were very few resources out there to support the approach I was desperate to take in my salon and because of that I was often ridiculed for being “woo woo” and “inexperienced” 😔

I REALLY struggled to find the support I needed to build my confidence and skills within the grooming sector, I found industry leaders narrow-minded, intimidating and borderline bullies 👎

So I had to turn to the behaviour and training world instead, and I’ve never looked back since I made that decision!

I quickly realised just how important those sectors were in helping to raise the bar of grooming industry standards — I threw myself into learning as much as I possibly could from some of the world’s most inspiring people in the field 🐶

ALL of my grooming training seemed to miss out any opportunity to build and grow skills in observation, communication and safe handling techniques — instead we were taught how to control and force a dog through the process with as little effort possible.

This approach only led to feelings of worthlessness and self-doubt, and not to mention the poor animals…

This flaw in our sector was the leading inspiration for the publication of my first book and, subsequently The Holistic Grooming Academy 📖

But it wasn’t until 4 years later that I would finally publish the very first VISUAL training and behaviour book that would demonstrate training techniques in the context of a professional grooming environment 🤓

2 years later and I still love this book as much as I did when I first launched it — it remains a steady favourite in my list of resources for students because it can reach into the minds of those who struggle reading “texty” books 🥰

If the book can reinforce to groomers one thing it’s that in order to make grooming a low-stress experience, a groomer requires advanced knowledge in animal behaviour and good skills in training — no exceptions ❌
