My business has been running for over 15 years in Tewkesbury but, following a recent move to Malvern, I am pleased to be able to offer classes here too.

Want to join our team of Good Companions?

We have one space left in our training course starting this Sunday, 7.45pm, at the Wheatpieces Community Centre, Tewkesbury. This is a four week course and is suitable for dogs over six months with a basic level of training. You’ll be working towards rosettes at four different levels, right up to advanced.

It’s Pet Remembrance Day today so let’s take a moment to share our four legged friends who are no longer with us. So many of you knew my incredible Bramble who will be etched on my heart until the end of time. It’s two years this week since we lost her so it’s opportune timing.

NOW FILLED

FREE DOG TRAINING CLASS - Dogs Trust Evesham - Sat 18th May

We are hosting professional dog training exams tomorrow (Sat 18th May) at Evesham Dogs Trust and are looking for a handler and dog to fill a cancellation.

If you have a dog that is happy to work alongside other dogs and handlers in an indoor training facility, and can be free tomorrow afternoon from 12-1.30pm to join a training class, please comment below. The class will be covering down, leave and loose lead walking and will be using reward-based techniques only. No previous experience required.

We only have one space, so will fill on a first come, first served basis.

TD Rally Evening School
Mon 3rd June 7-8.30pm
At Contented Canine Secure Fields Training Barn
£27.50 per dog and handler

This 90min session is suitable for dogs that have already undertaken some basic rally sessions and whose owners know some of the signs and movements. The session will include 60 mins working on the signs for levels one and two, followed by 30 mins tackling some courses.

Most of the spaces have been snapped up by our regulars but we have two spaces left. If you’re interested in finding out more, get in touch for a chat.

Remember Jemma? We posted about her in August last year when she had just been brave enough to take her first public walk. Well now looks what she’s achieved…….

Jemma was a puppy farm dog who was rehomed a year ago by one of the most patient and supportive families I’ve ever met (lucky Jemma). I visited Jemma soon after she came to her new home, and was met with the most nervous little girl-terrified of people, movement, all of the normal household noises that most dogs are oblivious to.

Jemma’s progress has been steady, she’s taken each day at a time, but she has this amazing curiosity which helps her to overcome new situations, helped by the support of her family.

And now, she’s smashed all expectations by achieving her APDT - Association of Pet Dog Trainers Good Companions Foundation award.

Go Team Jemma, we can’t wait to see what happens next. Just goes to show the value of love and patience………

FREE dog training classes

Sat 18th and Sun 19th May at Evesham Dogs Trust

We are hosting some professional dog training exams and are in need of dogs and handlers to take part in classes over the weekend - the candidates being assessed will be asked to teach a one hour class covering down, leave and loose lead walking at whatever level is required by the attendees. There will be four dogs and handlers in each class.

All abilities welcome but dogs must be comfortable in a room with unknown dogs and humans.

There are four sessions each day and you need only commit to one session, although welcome to stay for two if your dog has the stamina to do so.

You can expect to be onsite for 1.5 hours in total as the candidate will be given a short period of time before the class to ask questions about you and your dog.

We are almost full thanks to our amazing clients, but have several spaces left and so are opening out to followers of our page. If you are interested in taking part, please comment below or send a private message and we can get in touch with more info.

Meet Cheddar. He’s a Staffie x Collie who was recently rehomed by a lovely couple and we’ve been working with the family for a few weeks.

Cheddar has a few challenges both inside and outside of the house, based around high arousal and an inability to cope in certain situations. We have tackled this by teaching Cheddar some behaviours inside the house and slowly but surely, progressing to asking for these outside too-firstly in the back garden, then the front drive, then on the road outside the house and finally out on walks.

Progress has been steady but every so often, we get a huge breakthrough. Today was one of those days as his owner, Lauren, says:

“We just got round the block and back on a loose lead! Lost focus a couple times but each time I stopped he came back😱I’m amazed x”

Wow, more successes last night, before we take a little break. We are blown away with everyone’s achievements over the last few months. Every dog and owner take something different away from the classes and we have loved the fun approach and the wonderful attitudes of everyone involved. Thanks everyone, see you back soon.

Let’s celebrate our advanced dogs, we’ve had three pass their award recently and we love their little achievement photos as well as their awesome rosettes collections. Massive well done to Nia, Indi and Maisie who join only a handful of dogs in the country with this award. 🥇
