Since bull baiting was outlawed in 1835 the ‘bulldog’ has undergone many different breeding practices, from breeding in the rolls and cute faces of the ‘Churchill dog’ to XL bullies and everything in between.

There’s a lot of scaremongering out there at the moment with regards to the XL bully ban. This is the official guidance from the UK government

Know the rules and your dog, and stop any possibility of enforced euthanasia of your best friend.

Great first session today with 4 month old Tilly, we worked on switching off and how to give her mum the best focus! She’s absolutely pooped after giving it her all in training! She’s going to be a little superstar, can’t wait to see her again!

This is Sophie. Sophie spent the first part of her life on the streets of Turkey until one day she took a liking to one of the holidaymakers in a local villa, she spent her days with them until it was time to go home. But that wasn’t the end of the story, the person at that villa had fallen in love and she rescued Sophie. Sophie now lives in a lovely, happy forever home here in the UK. It took some getting used to for Sophie having a family, and for the family having the lovely Sophie. However, with positive training she’s thriving and absolutely loving her new life just as much as her new family love having her. It’s national rescue dog day, if you’ve got the time and commitment giving a dog a new lease in life is a wonderful thing, for both you and the dog.

With the weather warming up, make sure you’re keeping your dogs cool. Have plenty of fresh water and shade to keep your dogs from overheating. Don’t walk at the hot times of the day, and be mindful of the surface temperature for their little (or big) pads

As the time of year is upon us and we start the festive shopping. The awful pet Christmas line is in all the shops... Please don’t get these for your pets this Christmas, as you can see this is rawhide and it has been artificially dyed red and green and glued into different shapes.

The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China.

Their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell.

Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes.

They regularly cause intestinal blockages and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog.

Please be safe this Christmas and pick a much nicer alternative for your pooches♥️
