Hey I'm Katie, my family and I run a wildlife rescue, where we rehabilitate all sorts of animals.

Today's intake from donnington grove vets Thatcham is this poor young black headed gull, they were found by the side of a road not moving and has now developed a small head tick fingers crossed they make it through the night 🤞

A Fact about these small gulls are that they have their dark brown/black head in the summer but in the winter there heads turn white with a black spot on either side of there head. 😊

This afternoon's intake is this beautiful pigeon (still to be named) from donnington grove vet thatcham, poor pidge is skin and bones so fingers crossed we can turn this beauty around with some TLC 💖

Update on Pluto 🦅

The second picture is a little graphic

Pluto is doing so incredibly well, eating well, more lively and full of energy.
With how well he is doing we are hoping to be able to release him back to his area this weekend coming up 🥰

The first admission of the year is this gorgeous young male kestrel Pluto.
We took a call from a gentleman concerned about a kestrel that he had seen hanging around for 2 days, after 1 hour and 15 mins we finally found him in a bush not looking too bright, after giving him a check over we found out that he is severely underweight and dehydrated.
Hopefully with a little tlc and time he will be able to go back to the area he was found. 🦅🤎

I'm so happy to let you all know that after 2.5 months of being with us and gaining his muscle back Buzz the buzzard was finally able to be released, to infinity and beyond my lovely 😍🦅😁🧑‍🚀

I'm happy to say that on the 22nd we were able to let Ginger the buzzard go, she was very happy to be back in the area she came from and went off beautifully 🦅🥰

On the 14th we said good bye and good luck to Penny as she went back on her adventures in the wild in kingsclere 🥰

On the 30th of September we got a call about a whole nest of hedgehogs being disturbed multiple times by a cat, mum was 807g and all 5 baby's were around the 150g mark at about 3 weeks old, they stayed together and with us for a month and were released back into the wild, mum was over 1kg and all the babys were over 600g when they left us 🦔🥰🎉

Thursday evening we had this feisty one come home with us from the barn vets Basingstoke after Hugo had his x-ray, this poor buzzard was found by the side of a road grounded and weak, after x-rays were taken we could see that the buzzard is suffering from cankar (in the green circle), hopefully after the medicine has taken its course, muscle built back up and appetite found they will be released back in the area it was found 🦅🥰

Hugo the black headed gull came in last night after crawling into a classroom for help in Newbury, Hugo has a broken wing so we are off to have an x-ray to see if it can be fixed 🤞

Yesterday afternoon's intake was a bit of a different one. This beautiful adult woodcock was found in a garden in Newbury after being attacked by another animal 😔, 🤞fingers crossed they make a recovery ❤️‍🩹

I would like to say and MASSIVE thank you to each and everyone of you who sent and donated wet cat and dog food, dry food and some other bits which will definitely come in hand.
I cannot thank you enough 💕 and all the hedgehogs we have in at the moment appreciate all the yummy food they now have ❤️🥰🦔

Today we had a flying visit 😁 from this tiny beauty found by a class of very excited kids at The Cheam School, luckily Joseph the goldcrest was only a little stunned after flying into a window, after a good few hours he was ready to go back to where he came from 🥰

Oh my gorgeous Henry goodbye and good luck with your new wild adventure, I'm definitely going to miss you and your character 💕

Henry came to us on the 25th of September 241g found in a Lidl car park in the day after being attacked by a strimmer. Yesterday he went to his new home in Andover with a cozy bed and food to hand and over double his original weight. Have a great life Henry 🦔🥰

Bonfire night, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASSSE be mindful of all wildlife, PLEASE look through and move everything around before lighting it up, these poor animals don't know what's coming and could easily lose their lives, so PLEASE be careful 🙏❤️
