It is so reassuring to know that although money is being spent on research, we are told that there is no active geoengineering going on in the skies above the UK. To be sure that the air we breathe, the soil our food is grown in, the grass our children play on, the sun that provides energy, the pure unadulterated rain, is as nature intended it, is an incredibly heartwarming, life affirming thing. Thank goodness we can trust what we are told by those who we elect to govern on our behalf. Bring on the pure H2O water vapour, I say.

We don't normally advertise rehomes on our page, however, I know these two well and they are desperately needing a new home:

We are looking for a loving home for two cats who are totally devoted to each other. They have been looked after for the last 18 months by a dear friend following the death of my Mum, but this arrangement cannot continue for health reasons. I am unable to take them as I have dogs who cannot live with cats.

Samuel is a 7 year old black boy. He is cheeky, very affectionate, and loves to sit on your knee once he knows you. He enjoys being brushed daily and playing with toys.

Autumn is an 8 year old stunning long haired tabby. She adores her brother Samuel and tries to make sure he keeps out of trouble! She can be a little bit shy, but her brother gives her confidence - once she gets to know you, she loves one to one time with you.

Both cats enjoy time outside in the fresh air, but they always come in at night.

They have everything they need, beds, bowls, cat climbers, scratching posts, and use their litter trays.

These cats must be kept together, they would not do well apart, and my Mum's final wish was for them to remain together in a safe, loving, quiet home away from busy roads.

I spent a wonderful Sunday at the Natural Dog Expo 2024 in Birmingham. Such good energy and great speakers plus an opportunity to catch up with so many friends, colleagues and clients. Big thanks and congratulations to Caroline Griffith and the amazing team behind it all.

Adders are emerging on Sutton Bank thanks to the few warmer days that we have been experiencing. This one is quite a decent sized adult. This time of year they sit on the paths to warm themselves up in the mornings so please be careful, especially if you have dogs off leads. Dogs will be interested in them, which could provoke a defensive attack by the snake if they are provoked and cannot escape fast enough.
Vets Now and CVS have teamed up with the Veterinary Poisons Information Service and carry a poisons toolkit that includes European Adder Anti-Venom. Check with your own veterinary practice to see if they carry it also, but keep details with you of where to go if your dog is bitten, as time is of the essence.

This year’s BSAVA Congress has been very enjoyable, a whole day on the microbiome, faecal transplants and treating GI disease without antibiotics - these subjects have made it to mainstream academia at last!
Shout out to Yvonne McGrotty from for some excellent on-stand lectures, really useful refresher sessions.

A rare morning these days. All the UK passenger airports are open and functioning, but unlike half of my life I no longer live under a major flight path, so the sky this morning was exactly as it should be, with the cloud types that I was taught in school gently passing above my head; gorgeous natural phenomena against a clear blue sky.
No chalky metallic taste in my mouth, no toxic trails and nets, no lies and no rage.
Breathing glorious air.

This weekend it was the birds that wanted to communicate, even Tilly stood amongst them calmly without even a muscle twitch towards harming them.
