The dog park seems to have escaped any major damage in the storm!
On checks today there’s a few minor casualties and in the woods some fairly large branches snapped off, so I think the decision to close was the right one.
Hopefully we are through the worst now and the dog park will re open on Tuesday (private event Monday) and Christmas will have arrived! 🎄
Apologies again for all those who had their bookings cancelled, if you haven’t received a reschedule from me then please get in touch again!

I’m sorry everyone but we have made the difficult decision to close the dog park for the weekend 😔
We have been following the forecast closely and with extremely high winds forecast we have to put our customers safety first.
We have a lot of trees and power lines overhead, so we have decided it’s in everyone’s best interests to close.
All bookings can be rearranged, message me and I can reschedule.

STORM DARRAGH*

We are currently monitoring the situation with the impending storm hitting our area tonight and through tomorrow and Sunday.

Currently there are forecasted winds of 50mph and a yellow weather warning issued. We realise things can change so we will continue to monitor the weather, and if you have a booking this weekend please keep a close eye on our social media for any decisions re closing the park.

We will message customers direct in the event of a closure. All bookings will remain honoured and you will have the opportunity to rebook on a different day.

With trees around and power lines over the field, yours and your dog’s safety is of course our top priority.

You can also edit your appointment up to 12 hours before your time, by logging in and using EDIT.

We realise people are struggling to get a booking with the days being much shorter. Whilst we hadn’t planned on opening in the dark, would there be any interest for a 4-5 and possibly a 5-6 slot re opening? A good head torch, light up collars and extra vigilance for dog poo (with a max of one person per two dog ratio) would be needed. Any interest?

Is a little wet underfoot this morning, advise wellies! However we are fairly mud free and any standing water will drain away quickly.
Don’t forget we also have our wash off hose, so you can wash off any mucky paws and wellies.

As you can see, my dogs do not enjoy the rain, especially when it’s photo time! 😁☔️
Mouse was glad to go back to bed 🛌

We are closed this afternoon for grass cutting and updates to our risk assessments, to make sure we are keeping everybody safe.

Don’t forget, there’s still time to enter our Halloween photo competition if you’ve taken a photo of your dog with our decorations! Comment on the competition post, or just simply vote for your favourite.

Tonight Halloween leaves the park, ready for birthday decs as we turn one tomorrow! 🥳

Please may I remind everyone not to use the park if your dog is unwell. Last week there were piles of vomit found in the park which whilst being unpleasant to discover, can also be a health risk. The area was quickly cleaned and disinfectant used, thanks to a report from one of our regular users alerting me.
The dog park is used by elderly dogs and some are vulnerable to illnesses so we like to keep all our doggy guests safe. If your dog is unwell (coughing, vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy etc) but you have a session booked and don’t want to miss out, then please contact me and I will rebook your session. If your dog is suddenly unwell at the park, then again, contact me immediately and we can make sure the area is cleaned. Thank you 😊

It’s Friday! Which means we may as well kick off our birthday week (next week) of competitions early 🤩

Previous residents Paul (left) and Rupert (ginger). Paul went off to a lovely new home and Rupert now lives his best life at the grand old age of 28, bossing about young and old racehorses in a lovely 20 acre retirement field 🥰🐎🐴
