Had my wound check and cast fitted today. The wound is healing nicely, apparently. I didn't want to look 🤢🤮.
Back in 4 weeks for the cast off and assessment.
I've added a photo of Milo too because he's much nicer to look at than my cast! 😍

Missing seeing all my doggy friends so much. Please give them all snuggles from me! 💚💚💚

I (hopefully) have contacted everyone booked in up until the 20th April for now. I'm going to hope that I will be back up and running the following week. If that's looking unlikely, I will let people know asap.
I just want to thank every single person who has so far seen my message, text or taken a phone call from me. The kindness I have received has honestly had me in tears. You really are all such lovely, compassionate people.
If you are going to a different groomer in the meantime, please let them know, they are welcome to contact me for your dog's record so they know exactly what I usually do, what shampoo I use, equipment etc.
Thanks again to the groomers! Your kindness is hugely appreciated and demonstrates what a wonderful, supportive industry dog-grooming is. 💚💚💚

Unfortunately, I am going to have to close Green Roof temporarily. I have been to the fracture clinic this morning and been informed I need surgery on my thumb to regain any movement as it isn't currently in the correct position to heal. It will then be a minimum of 6 weeks of no movement to allow it to heal. I am so very sorry. As you all know, I love my job and feel honoured to have the wonderful clientele I have, both canine and human! I will be back working as soon as it is safe for me to do so, with a big smile on my face!
I have been in touch with several other local groomers who I know and respect hugely! I would trust all of these groomers with my own dogs. They have all kindly said they will make space to take any Green Roof dogs that will need grooming before I am able to return to work. I will post a list below:

I have, unfortunately, fractured my thumb falling down stairs this morning. Thank you ever so much to the dog parents who were booked in today and were so lovely! Thank you to everyone I've spoken to that was booked in this week too. I am at the fracture clinic on Friday and should know more then about how long I will be out of action for. I will keep you all updated and be in touch with those booked in soon, as soon as I know more. 💚💚💚

The last visitor at Green Roof today was gorgeous pug, Ruby! She is possibly the fluffiest pug in the world and, even aside from that, Ruby is a bit of a phenomenon. She seems to defy the laws of physics; Ruby has her bath and de-shed, leaving enough fur to create an entire another Ruby out of. Despite this, she looks fluffier than ever once we are finished! Ruby is as sweet as she is pretty. She really is a lovely little girl!

The next visitor at Green Roof today was pretty yorkie x, Daisy! Daisy is such a sweet little girl. She can get a bit anxious but she does love a good snuggle and a treat, so she's easily reassured! She's also a funny girl; when I'm using treats to get photos of her, instead of looking at the camera, like most dogs do, this clever girl will try to look round it to keep her eyes on the treat! She's so very lovely!

The next visitor at Green Roof this morning was handsome border terrier, Cooper! This was Cooper's first visit so neither of us knew what to expect. I learned that Cooper is a real sweetheart! He was very calm and relaxed throughout his visit, enjoying playing with the toys and a little explore of the garden (on lead - we are still temporarily a few fence panels down thanks to the last two storms)! We had a lovely time together and Cooper was happy to have some snuggles before he went home with his mum! 💚♥️🐶♥️💚

The first visitor at Green Roof today was adorable jackapoo, Rudi! Normally, I take lots of photos of my canine visitor and then go through them afterwards, deleting all the blurry ones. Rudi is such a good model, there were none to delete! He's very focused on the treat in my hand, as you can see! Rudi is incredibly well trained as he goes to work with his dad most days! He's a happy little chappy and, isn't he gorgeous?! 💚♥️🐶♥️💚

The last visitor at Green Roof was pretty little Indi the Maltese x! Indi is always ever so excited when she arrives until... she remembers she's here for a bath and not just for play and cuddles. She's a tiny sweetheart with beautiful long eyelashes! Today, Indi put a complaint into management (that's me) about the lack of her favourite treats. I have taken this seriously and promised to have them in abundance for her next visit! 😂💚♥️🐶♥️💚

The next visitors at Green Roof today were handsome short-haired dachshund, Rolo, beautiful long-haired dachshund, Willow! These babies did so very well. Rolo hates having his claws clipped but, unfortunately for him, they grow ridiculously quickly and are really thick. Today, he tolerated it with minimum fuss and then looked straight at my treat pocket for his reward! Brave boy! Willow is completely chilled throughout her groom; she even starts to nod off when I'm drying her ears. She's an ex-Homeless Hounds and like most rescue pooches, she looks so happy and healthy now she's living with a loving family! 💚♥️🐶♥️🐶♥️💚

The first visitor at Green Roof today is a beautiful mix of bichon and westie! Little Oscar is an absolute sweetheart. He's such a good boy and he makes grooming him so very easy with his lovely nature. Oscar is 10 years old but, when he is off the table, he is just like a puppy! You can probably see from his photos, he's full of fun and joy! Happy boy! 💚♥️🐶♥️💚

It's been an all cockerpoo day at Green Roof today and, even more coincidentally, they have all been chocolate coloured ones! The next two visitors were beautiful sisters, Autumn and Blossom! These two girls grow so fast. Their mum warned me they looked a little bit like miniature Highland cows and they did! Unfortunately, you won't get to see this as I forgot my before photos, as usual. These two lovelies always start a bit nervously but they soon relax once they're bathed and dried. Autumn quite likes the feel of the clippers on her back and Blossom adores having her ears dried! Sweet girls! 💚♥️🐶♥️🐶💚

The first visitor at Green Roof today was handsome cockerpoo, Coco! Coco is a lovely boy. He's ever so affectionate and sweet. Coco loves his treats and will even let me clip his front claws (which he thinks is very scary!) for a reward in the form of a tasty treat afterwards! He's an energetic pooch who does struggle to stay still for long periods of time. After a short break off the table though, he's good to go back up again. Good boy, Coco! 💚♥️🐶♥️💚

The next visitor at Green Roof today was another handsome, rather large chap with an awful lot of fur! It was wonderful Wilbur the golden retriever! Wilbur still thinks he's a puppy; he's very excitable but also very sweet! He doesn't mind being groomed but he does struggle with knowing there are toys in the room that he'd much rather be playing with. Once we are done, he has a good root in the box to find the softer toys that he likes the best! 💚♥️🐶♥️💚

The first visitor at Green Roof this morning was handsome Jasper! This gentle soul is a fascinating mix of Akita, malamute and red fox lab. The colours in his coat are absolutely gorgeous but I can never seem to capture just how lovely they are with my phone's camera. Jasper is one of my extra fluffy visitors. De-shedding him means mask on to stop me inhaling the fluff and goggles to stop it going in my eyes! It's such good fun though! 💚♥️🐶♥️💚
