These peaceful bottom dwellers are best kept in a group of 6 or more and only grow to around 4cm making them ideal for most community aquariums

Wahey we've finally been officially issued our 5 star pet shop license! 😁😁😁

A 5-star rating for a pet shop license from the UK government means that the business has met all minimum standards and higher standards for animal welfare. A 5-star rating is considered low risk ✅️
In short this means our methods, practice, and care for the livestock we sell to you is of the highest standards and that when you buy your pets from us you know we have given them the time, and attention they deserve and need! ❤️

Being the shop manager and this renewal being my first time hands on with the pet shop license I couldn't be happier achieving this prestigious rating and thank you all for your wonderful custom over my soon to be 7 years in the store 🫶

An unusual Tuesday off for me so of course a little aquarium maintenance was done 🤓❤️🐟🦐🐌🌿

6 boxes of fish, shrimp, snails, and plants due in tonight being acclimatised and put into quarantine by Jacob & Joseph then ready for the weekend! ❤️

These peaceful little guys only grow to about 2inches, will tolerate temperatures as low as 20c and will graze on algae! What's not to love?! 🐟

Betta's otherwise known as Siamese fighting fish are often mislabelled as non community aquarium fish and with that name it's easy to see why! 😤

However betta splendens can peacefully coexist with other smaller species of fishes as long as they aren't fin nippers like tiger barbs or too flamboyant and similar looking like male guppies 🚫

We keep most of our bettas in with a wide variety of tetra, rasbora, platies, and of course peaceful bottom dwellers such as cory catfish etc. ✅️

We find that the shorter fin varieties of bettas handle community aquariums and aquariums with stronger flow much better in comparison to the longer finned varieties ❤️🐟🐌🌿

As many of you know, when it comes to our livestock, there's never a day off! Even when we're closed, we go in to make sure the systems haven't failed, the fish are fed and everyone is looked after etc ❤️ Well, on Christmas day, Jonny brought the family along to help him check on everything and had a special surprise in store for his partner! As you can see, SHE SAID YES!! 💍🥰🥳 Congratulations to Jonny and his new Fiancé 👏 ❤️ Please Note : Although we guarantee our livestock, we can't gurantee your partner will like being proposed to in a fish shop 😂 Have a great evening folks 🥰

🔥💰 Synodontis Sale in store only💰🔥 We have a boat load of larger (and chunkier!) synodontis catfish available in store at a bargain price of £5.00 each! 🤑 That's cheaper than the small imports we have! 😲 These fish are not suitable for smaller aquariums or aquariums that house small fish such as neon tetra etc. but for those of us with larger fishes like most cichlids, plecos, bichirs etc. Etc. Growing to around a metre long, Sterlets are an amazing addition for those of you with large ponds They can be trained to eat from the surface but do best on a high protein diet all year round.
