❤️ An Acres Way Success Story - Cece! ❤️

Here is a story with a happy ending to share a little glimpse of what it is that we do at Acres Way on a daily basis.

Every day, we have stray dogs come through our doors, and very often, not in good condition. Cece was rescued by one of our dog wardens back in July, having been found tied up to a chicken wire fence in our local area. She was severely matted, dirty, and weighed just 3.35kg! Underneath all of that curly coat, she was honestly a bag of bones.

With a lot of TLC, she has transformed into a completely different dog, has gained 2kgs and is now living a completely different life - full of love! Our very own on-site dog groomer, Charlotte, has adopted Cece - being a Poodle fanatic - and has done a wonderful job since taking her on. Charlotte has helped us many a time with our rescue dogs that have ended up here in a terrible state, and we could not be more grateful. If you have any dog grooming needs, her page is Naturally Pawfect Dog Grooming & Spa, she is brilliant with all breeds/nervous dogs, and who knows...you might even be lucky enough to meet Cece when you visit! 😆

👻 Happy Halloween from our Marvellous Mastiffs 👻

Our wonderful big dogs deserve a moment of appreciation 😍 They may be monstruous in size, but they are angelic in nature 🫶🏼 They are now all looking for their individual forever homes. We are only accepting applications for child-free homes, or kids over the age of 16.

Introducing Shyla, our gorgeous female Mastiff Cross (pic 1.) Shyla came in to us in a horrendous state, but has truly blossomed since being in our care. She has tested well with other dogs here at the kennels and is now ready to find a patient forever home to settle in to. She is around 2 years old, so is still full of beans and loves affection, but she can be nervous at first so needs a little bit of time to get to know new people.

Lime (pic 2) is our wonderful 2 year old Cane Corso. He is a big do**us, and if he could talk, he definitely would sound like the voice of the Monster Mash himself 😆 Lime loves playing alongside other dogs, and also with toys, but he is not cat-friendly. He will need a home with no cats or neighbouring cats as he does have a high prey drive. He is a truly lovely boy who has been waiting for his forever home for far too long! Lime is super strong on a lead, but does walk well with his halti and is getting better every day 🫶🏼

Marshall (pic 3) is our big, goofy boy. He is 3 years old, but is truly a gentle giant. This big boy has a big heart full of love, and is patiently waiting for his future home. He is rather food motivated so give him a treat, and you’ll have the key to his heart 🦴

A huge thank you to Grant at Mr Baptiste tattoo on Canvey. Grant has been donating 10% of any animal related tattoo to the our charity The Acres Way Trust, also donating from his own pocket. Grant has managed to raise an amazing £333.34! If you’re looking for some new ink please check our Grant’s artistry!

This lovely fur baby has been successfully rehomed and with a great family.
There are plenty of other loving dogs just waiting for that special family to provide a forever home ♥️🐕💙

This is the lovely Wednesday from Acres Way Boarding and Rehoming Centre
She is a 3 year old Cairn terrier and super friendly.
More importantly, she is the 2000th fur baby we have vaccinated and cared for 🎉🐶🐾
We see Acresway every week with the lovely dogs looking for their amazing forever homes and always look forward to helping them get protected before they go to their new homes 🤩

✨ CHARITY FUNDRAISER LIVE MUSIC NIGHT ✨

A date for your diaries...

One of our staff -whom you may have met down here at the kennels- also doubles up as a jazz and blues singer at the weekends! She has organised a soiree of live music in support of our rescue centre on Friday 7th November at The Royal Hotel, Southend. Tickets are £20 and can be purchased via the link at the bottom of the post.

The evening has a line up in store of incredible local musicians, who will take the stage to share their talents and passion, with all proceeds from ticket sales coming directly to Acres Way Trust, as well as a percentage of the booking fees donated by the website.

This blues trio from Southend will take you back in time with their soulful sound and artistic arrangements of some of the finest blues melodies. They have performed in well-known venues together locally, as well as headlining their own shows, and truly are a trio not to be missed!

The Jazz diva of our era! Ruby is a distinguished jazz and swing singer, gracing UK stages for over a decade. She has performed at prestigious leading London venues selling out shows at The Crazy Coqs, Piccadilly, as well as performing at many other impressive venues including upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s! Prepare to be thoroughly entertained by the jazz QUEEN who is Ruby Robinson!

- Winter - The Songs of Streisand
Making a little Barbara Streisand come-back just for this wonderful event, Winter is a powerhouse you just must hear! She has toured the country delighting people with the songs of Streisand, as well as writing and performing her own beautiful folk music. For this event, you will be treated to some of the most famous Barbara Streisand songs, sung by the raw talent and soul that is Winter.

🧡Blanket Appeal🩷🐶

As the colder weather is slowly creeping up on us all, we are kindly reaching out to all of our amazing community to see if anyone has any blankets/throws they wish to donate to the doggies down here at the centre. If you are having a clear out, we would love any blankets you may have to keep our guests and resident dogs even cosier. Currently, we are not in need of any more towels or duvets, as our storage area for these is full up. (Please note, we don't accept pillows/sheets/mattress toppers etc.) 💝
