✨ CHARITY FUNDRAISER LIVE MUSIC NIGHT ✨

A date for your diaries...

One of our staff -whom you may have met down here at the kennels- also doubles up as a jazz and blues singer at the weekends! She has organised a soiree of live music in support of our rescue centre on Friday 7th November at The Royal Hotel, Southend. Tickets are £20 and can be purchased via the link at the bottom of the post.

The evening has a line up in store of incredible local musicians, who will take the stage to share their talents and passion, with all proceeds from ticket sales coming directly to Acres Way Trust, as well as a percentage of the booking fees donated by the website.

- The Gigantelli Trio
This blues trio from Southend will take you back in time with their soulful sound and artistic arrangements of some of the finest blues melodies. They have performed in well-known venues together locally, as well as headlining their own shows, and truly are a trio not to be missed!

- Ruby Robinson
The Jazz diva of our era! Ruby is a distinguished jazz and swing singer, gracing UK stages for over a decade. She has performed at prestigious leading London venues selling out shows at The Crazy Coqs, Piccadilly, as well as performing at many other impressive venues including upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s! Prepare to be thoroughly entertained by the jazz QUEEN who is Ruby Robinson!

- Winter - The Songs of Streisand
Making a little Barbara Streisand come-back just for this wonderful event, Winter is a powerhouse you just must hear! She has toured the country delighting people with the songs of Streisand, as well as writing and performing her own beautiful folk music. For this event, you will be treated to some of the most famous Barbara Streisand songs, sung by the raw talent and soul that is Winter.

🧡Blanket Appeal🩷🐶

As the colder weather is slowly creeping up on us all, we are kindly reaching out to all of our amazing community to see if anyone has any blankets/throws they wish to donate to the doggies down here at the centre. If you are having a clear out, we would love any blankets you may have to keep our guests and resident dogs even cosier. Currently, we are not in need of any more towels or duvets, as our storage area for these is full up. (Please note, we don't accept pillows/sheets/mattress toppers etc.) 💝

Murphy & Roy 💙💚

Meet these handsome chaps who are looking for their forever home. Murphy and Roy arrived to us due to no fault of their own and are ideally looking for a home together.
Murphy is a 2 year old Crossbreed, and Roy is a 3 year old Cockapoo.

Roy is a confident and happy lad who gets on well with new people but he is not a huge fan of other dogs beside Murphy. He is fully housetrained, neutered and travels well, however he does like the sound of his own voice at times, and doesn't like to be on his own for very long.

Murphy is a gentle and shy boy who does find the outside world to be a little bit scary so having Roy around does help with his confidence. He is fully housetrained, fine to be left on his own and gets on fine with other dogs. Murphy does suffer with some travel sickness which is easily rectified going forward. Being a cockapoo, Murphy will need regular trips to the groomers for a haircut.

Both boys have lived with children in the past, so they would be suitable to live with children who are 10+.

WISHING LIAM THE BEST OF LUCK!!!

A dear friend of Acres Way has taken on an ultra challenge to fundraise for us, this weekend. Liam is running 2 marathons in 2 days, in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. This challenge is in memory of his beautiful Boxer Luna, whom he lost last year at just 4 years old after a difficult, yet courageous battle with kidney disease.

Luna was a soul who brought so much joy to everyone who met her, and her story reminds us of just how precious dogs are to us, the daily laughs they give us, and how much they really, truly are man's best friend.

Liam has volunteered with us previously, and has seen the work that we do first hand down here at the rescue. His passion for dogs has inspired him to give back to us in the biggest way possible. He has almost reached his original fundraising target in less than a week of having set it up, so now he is striving even bigger...and would love to cover a month's worth of vet bills for us!

** Calling All Acres Way Puppy Owners**

Over the past year or so, we have had many litters of puppies born at the kennels, or puppies arrive here as strays.

We have been asked by a few people with pups from different litters to see if we can help them connect/get in touch with their litter mates. As you can imagine, there are lots of new families to contact, and we cannot share personal details for privacy reasons, so we thought we would do a post here, and those of you with pups from previous litters can get in touch with each other from the comments section, and even create little group chats if you'd like to keep in touch.

The Mum from each litter we have had in the last year is in the following photos with her puppies (if we had a picture of them together.) Or, if they came in as strays, there is a photo of the litter that you may recognise your pup as being from. Please comment on the relevant picture of your puppy's litter or mother to connect with their siblings if you would like to stay in touch. If you are unsure which litter your pup came from/who their Mum was, please feel free to get in touch and we will help match you up to the relevant thread🐾

🐾 KNUCKLES 🐾

Meet Knuckles - our gorgeous, 9 year old English Bull Terrier. Knuckles is currently our oldest resident, having ended up here as a stray. He was in a bit of a sorry state, with an untreated eye-condition which we have now gotten on top of, and it just requires a little bit of daily care and eye drops.

Knuckles is a senior dog who proves that age really is just a number! He has a larger-than-life personality, and despite his age, is always up for a run around in the pens, loves a walk, and still enjoys playing with a ball. He is a cheeky chap, now looking for his forever home, where he can curl up on the sofa and enjoy his retirement years. He has tested well with other dogs at the centre, but would prefer to be the only dog in the home as he can be a little bit...randy shall we say 😆 He could live with dog-savvy children over 10, who are able to understand how solid an English Bull Terrier's really head is...and avoid the ever-loving headbutts ❤

**Puppy Alert** 💙

Meet Alvin, Simon and Theodore, our 4 month old Lurcher crosses. They arrived to us as strays and were found together wondering around. All 3 boys are very sweet and are still learning that the outside world and walking on a lead is not as scary as it seems. We are unsure of what they are crossed with, so any potential owner will need to be aware that they will be medium/large dogs. Homes with sighthound experience would be preferred for these boys, and they are looking for owners who have the time and patience to start on some training, and get them used to big wide world!
They would be suitable to live in a home with children, and they could also live with other dogs.

We have a standard rehoming fee of £400 which covers initial vaccinations, flea and worm treatment, and a neutering voucher for future use. A follow up homecheck will also apply. 🐾
